View Full Version : Alex from PSV to Milan?
Here (http://alexdacosta.web-log.nl) you can read what Voetbal International - a reliable source - has to tell.
What are they basing their facts on?
Is it the same source that reported Stam to Milan or van Bommel to Milan?
that would be great!
but he is co owned by chelsea i think.
but finally a good defender, and 'young'. a good turn in the good direction. now kompany needs to come and schweinsteigers

Was it him that was crying on the field when milan went through in the second leg i think it was him the manager hugged him and he walked off Lol he was very Loyal i guess to psv sign him hope he is like that to milan
oh i wish... hes probably the only CB in the world along with chivu that i would agree to sign right now

If not, then it certainly is a fan-site. They would get their information directly from his personal site, and if not, they would be getting it from his real-life friends.
they got it from www.vi.nl or something ;)
I think its VMK's own fan site :D quoting Voetbal International magazine.
It would be a good transfer but like already mentioned I think Chelsea have him already
Alex is good, and we will see him again in san siro soon. ( he is slowly adopting to life in the san siro... ) But alex cant be our complete solution for next season. Ive seen roma - siena match and once again Ive seen great Chivu. Man can defend and take LB role with a lot of good forward runs. Something maldini does when he plays CB. Chivu and Alex would be perfect, but its a long way to go...
Why do Chelsea really have to buy everybody?
I dont they really are interested. Its just nowadays they are being linked with each and every single player.
This would be a great transfer move but if we get him in january i think he wont have much playing time as long as maldini and stam still play. But next year would be good for him in Milan
It's not his personal site, it's indead my fansite.
The situation has changed, after some words (http://alexdacosta.web-log.nl/log/3733371) of our president.

Milan may move for Alex
by Alex Livie - Created on 4 Oct 2005
Reports in the Dutch media are suggesting Milan will make a move for PSV Eindhoven defender Alex in the January transfer window.
Alex has emerged as one of the most commanding defenders in Europe, with his displays catching the eye of many of the continent's major players, but it was widely believed that Chelsea would be his next port of call.
PSV have a special relationship with the big-spending Premiership champions and it was rumoured that Chelsea aided the Dutch outfit financially in landing Alex from Santos in 2004.
Alex proved his class for PSV with towering displays in both the UEFA Champions League and Eredivisie last term, but his efforts did not lead to a summer move to Stamford Bridge.
It is now being claimed that he may not head to West London after all, as Milan are rumoured to be readying themselves for a January transfer swoop.
Milan's ageing defence is in need of an overhaul, with Jaap Stam, Paolo Maldini and Alessandro Costacurta all the wrong side of 30, and coach Carlo Ancelotti feels Alex could be the man to partner Alessandro Nesta at the San Siro.
Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has a wealth of quality central defensive options available to him, including John Terry, William Gallas and Ricardo Carvalho, and if he fails to bid for Alex in January the path could be left clear for Milan to swoop for the Brazilian.
Somhow, someway, I doubt this will happen, though in all honesty, I hope it does.
Alex is good but he is not good enough to play in first 11. He can be extremly usefull backup for chivu-nesta!
Alex is good but he is not good enough to play in first 11. He can be extremly usefull backup for chivu-nesta!First of all we do not possess Chive already. Secondly Stam is very old and wants to leave after this season. So where is a problem for Alex to gain starting lineup place :rollani:

I respectfully desagree...Alex made a great CL(and Eredv.) in his debut in Europe, and shows that he can be dominant...and he is mpore suited for Serie A(than Eredivisie). IMO, the only thing that Chivu is better than Alex, is in the construction of game. But Alex is the type of defender that you put in a foward, and the guy desapear...
In my dream, both came to Milan next year.
Back to the Chelsea thing. If i´m not wrong, Alex don´t have the numbers of caps to play in England(thanks Parreira), so I can´t see Chelsea buying him in January...and WTF is the "every player in the World is in Chelsea eyes"???

Nope. You provide two lists. One for the pre-Winter break period and the second for the post-Winter break period. However a player who has represented one club in a European competition cannot represent another club in the same season as he is cup-tied according to UEFA regulations.

Anyone who wants to see Chivu join Milan must be a Juve or Inter supporter because no one in their right mind would want their club to spend so much money on a player that struggles to play 25 games a season.
Don't get carried away every time you see a defender who is quick and scores from free kicks.

Well, with respect, but it is very dangerous to play Alex in first 11 when he has no serie a experience. And if stam vants to leave ( and we dont know the situation on paolo and billy, with simic playing poorely), we would need 2 new CB. My personal wiew is that its clear that Milan wants Chivu. And his fitness will not be a problem in Milanello. The question you all ask is , is he good anough? My answer is - absolutely. Can he play with concistency? - yes. Injuries? - If milan decides to go for him, he is ok. Things like that are very important and people in milan are aware of it. Alex is very good , but he WILL need some experience.

Gallas is actually pretty versatile player, and can play CB or RB, sometimes he even plays as a LB, but we dont need that. And he would cost only a few mil. 2-3, so I think it would be a really good job.

Milan play down Gallas talk
By Peter ORourke - Created on 10 Oct 2005
Milan have played down speculation linking them with a move for Chelsea's William
Gallas raised doubts over his future at Stamford Bride over the weekend by suggesting that he could move on.
The French international is considering moving on after over five years at the West London outfit.
Gallas had indicated that he would be interested in a move to Milan if he were to leave Chelsea, but the Italian giants insist they have no plans to sign the former Marseille man.
"It gives us pleasure that Gallas shows affection for us," said Milan sporting director Ariedo Braida.
"But we won't make a move for him."
Its also on the guardian website, gaol.com, and I am sure others...so please, as I said, unless Braida is pulling a fast one, we ARE NOT LOOKING AT GETTING GALLAS!
I wish it wasnt the case...say it aint so Braida...say it aint so..

Don't give up hope, the new coach (if we get one) may have other ideas. Everyone at the club knows we have issues with the defence, yes they should have acted earlier, but it will be addressed.

we need defenders by january, not by next year.. i just hope for the next month Maldini and Stam can keep up to pace with the 2games a week schedule! hope they dont get injured nor get tired.. i hope nesta gets back sooner than 4 weeks..
Maldini and Stam can certainly do the job, but given their age and how easily they get injured, im afraid we really are falling into a deep hole here.. Now Milan must change to the Real Madrid tactic - "To win the game, we just need to score one more than what they score against us". I never thought i'd say that. Hope Simic can be depended on when we really need him.

AC Milan have made contact with Chelsea about PSV Eindhoven defender Alex.
The Brazilian is on-loan at PSV from the London giants and Milan are hoping to take advantage of their good relationship with Chelsea to land the defender.
Chelsea are reluctant to sell Alex outright, so ruling out any January deal for Milan. However, Milan chiefs are open to a loan agreement for the defender, which would see him move to San Siro next summer on a temporary basis.

Milan is in Europa mijn favoriete club.

Translation in summary:
"Playing with players like Dida, Cafu, Kaka and other Brasilian players is a dream for anyone, also for me".
Alex thinks that PSV is a great club and he likes the club a lot, but "everybody wants to improve himself. Milan is my favourite European club. There are a lot of Brasilian players, so it's more easy to integrate".
Alex will not leave during the winter break. "For the near future i will stay, PSV is a great club. But next summer there has to be an option for talking".
The question will be if Chelsea wants to sell Alex to one of the biggest rivals.

He called Milan large elftal'. Alex emphasises that he has it at PSV well to the sense. But everyone works hard improves to become. Milan are in Europe my favoriete club. So much brazilianen play, are it certainly now there easy there incorporate. Last summer the PSV'er were already connected with Milan. There he could deserve net three - to four times so much. The verdediger had however given its word to PSV. "and that decorates him", thus coach Guus Hiddink. "he has not chosen then clear for the large money." The chance which leaves Alex at the end of the season, is very large. PSV have concluded a two-year agreement with Chelsea concerning Alex. The transferrechten to lie at the London club, which Alex during the first two contract years (of five) in end courts stalde. Chelsea can take over Alex after this season for free and, in need cases, even already in January. Problem is that the verdediger does not qualify because of a shortage to experienceexperience experience for a work permit in United Kingdom Alex lets know that a departure is not during the winter top under discussion. Chelsea 'gave' PSV the money to sign Alex so technically he isn't owned by them but by PSV. Chelsea cannot use him as he will not get a work permit to play in England. I don't see them standing in the way if we make a bid.
In anycase management had been watching him for 2 years and they should have signed him before he went to Holland. After watching him play 5 times for Santos I was convinced he was going to be a World Class defender.

For those talking about Cicinho, he has agreed to join Madrid in January.
Also, I believe the Italian transfer rules now state that a club may only bring in one non-EU player from abroad (outside Italy) each season. So if Alex were to come, Milan would only be able to buy EU players other than him. Or non-EU players from any Italian club.

REAL MADRID WIN THE RACE FOR CICINHO
Brazilian international Cicinho will join Real Madrid in January, after São Paulo's participation in the F.I.F.A World Club Championships has come to an end. In recent months, the flying wingback has been the subject of interest from a who's who of European clubs, including Manchester United, Juventus and A.C Milan. But it's the Spanish giants that have emerged triumphant, in the hotly-contested battle for his signature. The Los Merengues club will shell out a total of (US)$12 million for the 25-year-old, with 60% of that fee going to Libertadores champions.
"It's a great deal all round - for me, my representatives and São Paulo," said a beaming Cicinho. "I will be an honour to wear the shirt of Real Madrid and a privilege to touch the ball in the (Spanish) championship. I'm so happy to be going to such a club, who have Brazilians like Roberto Carlos and Ronaldo."
The ex-Atlético Mineiro ace then declared that he will remain fully committed to the Brazilian club's cause, until he makes his departure at the start of 2006. "I will defend São Paulo with everything I have got, in the Brasileiro, the Copa Sul-Americana and the World Club Championships," he decalred.
Cicinho - a player renowned for his lightening raids down the right flank - will have to do battle for a first team place, when he does arrive in the Spanish capital. Real's current right-fullback is the reputable Michel Salgado.

Yes, but Crespo was a Chelsea player on loan out, we wanted to keep him and we wanted to stay, and we all know what happened.
I hope Alex refuses to play for Brazil national team so he cant get a work permit to join Chelsea, now THAT is sacrifice! :P
Milan will allow Stam departure
Thursday 27 October, 2005
Jaap Stam looks almost certain to quit Milan in the summer after the Rossoneri opened the door for his exit.
The 33-year-old stopper is eager for a return to Holland and a transfer now seems almost inevitable.
"If Stam wants to return to Holland then we will look to please him," stated boss Carlo Ancelotti.
"Milan are not a club who will stand in anybody’s way, but Stam won’t be leaving us before June."
Although happy at Milan, the former Manchester United defender wants to depart for personal reasons.
"Jaap is very content in Italy and is contracted to the club for another two years," his agent Henk Van Ginkel stated this week.
"However, Stam wants to go back home to Holland so that he can totally dedicate himself to his family.
"Two clubs have already said they are interested in him. We’ll now have to speak to Milan and see what can be done."
It’s understood that PSV Eindhoven, where Stam played between 1996-1998, and Heerenveen are keen on his signature.
However, the player maintains that he wants to leave the European giants on a high if possible.
"I will make a decision on my future at the end of this season," stated the signing from Lazio.
"But my only thought right now is to win something important with Milan first."

From Skysports.com:
Simic needs first team football
By Vlatko Siljanovski - Created on 25 Oct 2005
Croatian international defender Dario Simic wants to leave Milan in the January transfer window in order to keep his place for the World Cup in Germany next year.
The 29-year-old, who with 75 caps is Croatia's second most capped player, has been out of favour with coach Carlo Ancelotti and is yet to play this season.
"I spoke to vice-president [Adriano] Galliani before the PSV game and told him that my primary wish is to play the rest of the season in order to keep my place in the national team," Simic explained.
"I hope to have a clear view on the options available when December comes. The money I will be getting here in Milan will not be an important factor," he stressed.
Simic was strongly linked with a move to Everton at the end of last season but nothing materialised and he does not have a preferred destination.
"I am not sure whether I will be leaving Italy or not."
Now with two of our defenders "wanting away" it seems the perfect time to invest in a YOUNG, talented defender, such as Alex.

YESSS i cant believe it! ANYONE is better than Simic! im so happy to know he wants to leave.. maybe we can get terlizzi ?
I think Galliani will pursuade him to stay for the rest of the season, but next summer we really need to change BIG in our defence - with Costacurta, Simic and Stam all leaving...

Alex situation is an mistery
I read three version:
1- He´s a Chelsea player loaned to PSV.
2- He´s a PSV player , and Chelsea have the first option to buy him.
3- Chelsea give the money to PSV to buy Alex, but it´s not a legal operation, it´s maybe explain why the FIFA said that will investigate Alex situation.
Maybe a PSV fan like VMK can give us some new information :dontkn:

Yea, long story short....Basically!
actually its getting really frustrating that milan with Berlusconi cant do anything to stop Chelsky getting all the young talent around. I know milan uses money wisely but we do need to be very carefull or Chelsky will dominate next 30 years... Kaka, gila are brilliant mooves , but to see players like mascherano ( who is simply brilliant player ), tevez, alex, kompany being all in the palm of Abramovic, its scary... Anyway, this is a topic about Alex and if we somehow sign him it will be an excellent move. And mr. Burns will say....excellent...

yeah but at the same time what chelsea are spending is way too much for what they could get.. they spent 30M on essien?? what the ****?? i bet milan couldve got him for 10M if chelsea doesnt interfere, if we spend that kinda money wed be long gone and id rather see milan be 2nd best to chelsea in 30 years than be one of the worst in the same time
Money isnt everything, players may feel they are suited to another team or they they may believe in the project the other club is building. Or the new Essien will want to do the current Essien for example. A club like Milan does not have to worry about Chelsea's buying power. Some players may choose Chelsea over us, but they wont ever be a shortage of players want to play for our great club.
So say Chelsea bring Kompany and Alex to their team, where will they play ? They won't sell Terry that's for sure, maybe they'll sell Gallas or Carvalaho (sp ?) so Milan can just go for one of them. It's one thing to be linked with Chelsea, but they can't buy everyone and if they do they can't play everyone.
Maybe Milan can work something out for Alex, here's hoping.

if that's true and he dosn't have the right amount of caps then it's very good for us. If chelsea only have a first option on him that means they can only get preferential treatment when coming into buy. If PSV get an offer from milan and want to take it all they can do is offer Chelsea him before us, so if he can't go they'll just have to decline, they can't make him stay at PSV until they feel like getting him.
Other good thing is, at most clubs Alex would probably be granted an conditional permit on appeal, but with Chelsea they board may decide that he isn't guaranteed first team football.

If alex could not get a work permit in Italy for the same reason, we should not worry. We have IL PRESIDENTE :)
Because of the fact that Alex don't play for the national team (so he can't work in England), PSV is trying to hold Alex for another season in Eindhoven (see also my Alex page (http:alexdacosta.web-log.nl)).

Alex, yes, cannot work in England, but there's no rule against him in Itlay or the other European countries, except the foregn player quota. In England, I am not sure, but a player should have played 70 or 80% of the games of the International team in the last two years, that means Alex did not do that. But for other countries, he can go anywhere. In Portugal (which I don't think he will be moving) he is considered as a local player, not a foreign player, so no quota against him.

Sorry phrased that wrong. I meant its a shame the world cup isnt after next season. Make more sense now :tong:

Alex may be good asset for us but I think that in defence Milan has to count on local players, most greatest defenders are italians, baresi, maldini and others were grown up in milan so milan should keep this politics. I would like to see Marzoratti soon in first squad.
indeed, with kaladze playing great we only need 1 CB now. and Barzagli could be a good solution, aldough I would prefer Alex. But the thing we need badly is RB. A great one. who? i dont know.... oddo seems ok.

Reveilliere and Clerc from Lyon. Francois Clerc is the deputy of Reveilliere in the RB position but this season Reveilliere got injured and missed a lot of games in the French League so the 22-23 yo Clerc got his chance to show what he is apable of ... and should I say, Lyon didn't miss Reveilliere at all. Good thing about Clerc is that he is 5 years or so younger than reveilliere and also Clerc will be a free agent in the summer. Bad news - Juve seem to be very, very interested in his services.
Also Alves from Sevillia but Barca seem to be after him too. Alves won't come cheap though.
Rafinha is also a player that shouldn't be overlooked although I am not sure I would be exactly thrilled to see him 1st choice at Milan as early as next year.
Anyway, latest news is Cafu may very well stay with Milan for one more year.

Alex for me is the best available. He is better than both Lugano and Barzagli. He has so many qualities that we lack in defence, but he also lacks qualities that we may need, but I dont think that will be a problem. Chivu is going to be the best defender around sooner or later, he's great. Then comes Lugano, along with Barzagli. I hope we do not get Sneijder, but instead focus on getting a player like Diarra to replace Gattuso. He literally is a beast, he cant control himself. He always gets caught up in his emotions, which affect Milan in the end.

Chivu is great(injure apart), no doubt. An defense line like:

Sunday in Ajax x PSV game, Alex was amazing one more time.
I´m a big fan of Alex, but is amazing to see the way that Alex is playing since he start at Santos, and after 2 seasons in PSV.
Maybe is his NFL OLB body, or his scary face, but people forget that Alex is only a 23yo guy. The same age of Kaká...and if you remeber that an defender reaches the top level of his game at 28 years; that Alex is not violent(has only two yellow cards in Eredivisie)and is a great citizen and professional. If he came to Milan to learn even more w/ the likes of Paolo and Sandro, the sky is the limit.
Alex does not have the skils of Nesta and Chivu(to create game), but you put Alex in a foward, and the guy generally it disappears. Like yersterday when after the first-half , Guus put Alex in Huntelaar(new dutch sensation)and he only had 1 chance in second-half.
Alex has weaknesses(IMO his first step), but he also has the skill that separates the good defenders(like Lugano, Barzagli) of the WC defenders(Paolo, Sandro, Pujol)...high defensive instincts;)

Beside Alex or Cris that we will get, we should not forget that Kaka's brother as many people say is the future defender of Milan...he is called the next Nesta because he is very talented and will be one of the best...
For the next years we will defenitely need Cris or Alex because Stam will be out, Maldini maybe retires next year...same for Costacurta so the defense is old and in the Summer everything will change...
I'm sure that Milan next year will be unstoppable and this year the problems let us down in Seria A not because we don't have a good team...we have found the rhythm now but it's not too late because Champions League remains the last objective and were destined to win it!

No one ever said Kaka's brother is going to be in the first team, and certainly no one said he's going to be the next Nesta. His brother is a below average footballer at his age, and I often check his latest news. The main reason he was brought to Milan was to be with his brother Ricky.

trabelsi was very unsure of himself at the start, but when inter looked more likely to win, he was the only ajax player that seemed to want to win the game... ifhe can do that most of the time at milan then i would go for him, otherwise i would want oddo.
I am a PSV fan, but i can say to you that Trabelsi of Ajax is one of the best backs of the world. He's fast, he has skills. He's a very modern football player.

I respect your feeling, Rando. But Alex isn´t slow. This is a big misunderstood about Alex. He doesn´t has a great first step, but his speed is amazing...he simple didn´t have survived in PSV if he was slow.
About Digão(Kaká brother), here in Brazil he was a reserve in São Paulo youth team. Only if some one made a miracle in Milanelo, we will se him playing in Milan senior team.
nesta-kaladze is our long term CB partnership, maldini can cover CB or LB when needed... we need good RB for cafu's replacement.
