Will never happen, we need 4 strikers and unless Pippo want to move (which I doubt very much), he will stay with us...

Don't see it happening to be honest, although I have a hunch by the start of next season either he or Vieri, or even perhaps both, may have moved on.

I think he shouldnt cause french league is easier than serie a and its easier to be called up from your home league he will get to play in milan no doubt he is class

I can't believe this to be honest. Milan will need Pippo this season and Pippo needs Milan! He really feels good at Milanello! Let's hope he can score some more important goals as the one against Palermo!

If we get Cassano in January Inzaghi and Vieri can leave!

Can't see it happening till summer if at all, unless he falls out with the Roma hierarchy completely.

I actually think he's quite a bit overrated in any case. Underachiever with far too much baggage.

Inzaghi is a much better player than Cassano, ditto Bobo. They are not going anywhere.

I am a Milan fan becuase of five players, Maldini, Billy, Bobo, Pipo and Rui-Costa! and you want to let two of my players go... not a chance!

I'm a Milan fan because of more than a few players

I think Bobo and Pippo were both very good players (in Vieri's case, truly world class). however, both have struggled heavily with injuries in recent seasons, and are starting to look a bit past their best. By the start of next season, both will be 33. Given the age of some of our other key players, we really need to start thinking about a gradual rebuilding of the squad.

Yea I feel the same way, if we get Cassano over the break, either Vieri or Inzaghi will be departing, that's the feeling I have

After watching Cassano at Euro 2004, I wanted him at Milan, but hes totally ruined his reputation with his behaviour since. I question whether or not his ego has a place at a club of humble Legends. Besides, where would he play? Would we drop Gila?? If there is some where he could play, Id rather take messi, who looks special except unlike Cassano is sain.

Rab

Messi is unobtainable. Barca won't sell him, face that.

That said, I agree with you on Cassano

Why everyone talks about rebuilding. Paolo is 37 years old, do we need to dump the legend and get a new guy just for the sake of becoming younger? So what that Pippo is 32, he missed almost two years becuase of injuries (that wasn't his fault!) and you don't want to give him a chance for a comeback!

As for me liking a few players, what difference does it make? Actually I like most of Milan players, but I absolutely can't stand Gattuso, his play and also his personality. I think he is a pest and a bit of an a**hole. I don't need to like all Milan players for Milan to be my team. That's my point!

Thanks

We need to replace players who have started to decline. man Utd is the perfect example of a failure to adequately replace players struggling as they get older. Look at how poor Scholes has been over the past year, and how weaker a player Keane is now when compared to his peak. Good players can't go on forever. In the case of Inzaghi, there is no guarantee that he is going to become the player he was before his injury again. Vieri looks a shadow of his former self. Once you get past 30, the niggly injuries start taking a bit longer to heal. I never said I didn't want to give Inzaghi the chance of a comeback, just stated my opinion that he might be sold on in the summer if he doesn't rediscover his best form.

Once your best players start to reach the end of their careers, then rebuilding is essential. By your reckoning Baresi would still be playing at the back.

As for liking players, that's not the issue. I like certain players and don't like others. My point is that you said you were a Milan fan ONLY because you liked a few of their squad, which gives the impression of being a fair weather fan. Quite feasibly, none of the five players you mentioned could be playing for Milan next season. Would you shift your allegiance?

I agree, even if Pippo regains his best form its not going to last forever. I miss having a Borriello on the bench who is happy to sit on the bench. The problem with having a fourth choice striker like Bobo is that theres a big fuss if he doesnt get a chance.

Rab

I agree with the possibility of having four big names on the bench, however I take issue with your mention of Boriello, as like Comandini and Saudati before him, he's sh!te.

No, there is no other alternative other than Milan for me! By the way I only think Billy would retire among the five you mentioned.

Rab

I wasn't just referring to retirement, though it is entirely possible that Paolo might just decide to walk off into the sunset. There is always a danger of playing on too long, as Baresi undoubtedly did. Plus, Rui, Vieri and Pippo could all possibly move on. There's no guarantee they will stay

I didnt actually mean Boriello, I meant a young striker with some promise which is what the strikers you mentioned once were.

I agree whole-heartedly, none of our experienced players are going to last forever, so at least we have to START looking for their alternatives who would spend some time on the bench at first and then take over...

If Paolo retires I am gonna have a major breakdown. I hope that never happens! I may not be able to make it!

relax guys pippo is not going 2 leave milan. Milan dint waste 2 yrs on his treatment so that he can leave us and perform somewhere else. He's a gem of a player, belive me guys he is back with a vengence and he is going 2 run havoc amongst all defences in europe.

Actually I like most of Milan players, but I absolutely can't stand Gattuso, his play and also his personality. I think he is a pest and a bit of an a**hole.

Arpan, I understand you disagree with Canadian but please don't call him names and put slight variations of swear words in posts (this should go for all posters) so that they aren't censored out.

Lets keep the posts civil and the forum at peace ;)

I don't agree, go get a microscope to read my post, read carefully i havn't compared rino to KING PAOLO. I said rino is a milan symbol AFTERAFTER king PAOLO MALDINI.

It was the canadian who started calling names on gattuso. This is not the first time he has done this. He also started a thread against rino and wrote some very unthinkable words for the gr8 rino.

The Canadian, consider this a warning for personally insulting another forum member. I've edited your post accordingly and will take further action the next time this occurs, so to put it simply, don't do it.

Arpan, same goes for you. I've edited your post where you put offensive terms. Again, this sort of behaviour is not acceptable.

Canadian is entitled to his own opinion and so if he doesn't like Gattuso, then thats his choice. If you disagree with him and wish to say so, then do it in a civil manner, not through offensive terms.

What I find even stranger is the fact that this argument has NOTHING to do with the topic

I hope this is clear to both of you, if you wish to argue, do it in a civil manner or do it elsewhere, not at MM.
