Today, 4 pm in Arg, 9 pm in Germany.
Well i just hope Lavolpe and Franco remember where they where born and give us a hand :ilol: .
Winner of this leg will play with the winner of Germany-Sweden. I think Germany is going to be in the final, so who ever wins doesnt really matter, but whoever wins this match, Mex or Arg should know that the next match is like playing the final, but thats something we'll talk later.

Teams havent been anounced yet for neither Mexico or Argentina, but Burdisso is injured for Arg, and therefor it is expected to see Coloccini instead. The rest of the team should be the same. On the other hand in Mexico, it is expected to see Borghetti on the front. Lavolpe's situation isnt very good after a draw and a defeat in the final match of the first round, and losing would mean for him thinking seriously not returning to Mexico if he wants to keep alive. :ilol:
Well Sant, good luck for both of us, and may the best team win. :D

I wish to see germans out of the tournament so Argentina is one of the best rivals for them in quaterfinals. Nonetheless Sweden is quite impressive too so who knows... :D

Even though I love all Latin American teams, but some of them more, Argentina is included in that list :tong:

Although I expect a hard match cuz even two members of mexican team are argentinians... IMO they try to do their best to proove their compatriots that they are worth to be members of their own NT in future ;)

IMO argentina is going to win this game against mexico but it;s not going to be easy .. mexico has slow strikers i think they are going to be lost in argentinas defense which is very strong .. plus argentina has more experience in WC

Good luck Argentina .. good luck pauek :5ok: :grinser:

Argentina are going to get a shocker from mexico. I think they are still flying on that 6-0 victory because of the idiotic performance from SCG. I wish its a fair competition without any red cards along with spectacular goals from bravo and riquelme!

Its 1-1 and both the goals scored by mexico. Argentina are getting a tough fight and I really hope that Mexico progress. In the beggining Mexico were strong and fast. Their defence is looking good.

That is it! Mexico is done.... again.

Never reached 1/4 finals outside of Mexico (learned that today, meaning that they reached them in 70 and 86:).
Messi and Tevez are awsome, the youngster turned 19 today.

In some respects Argentina were fortunate to get through tonight. Heinze's tackle dserved a red card and not a yellow, there was no way Ayala was going to get across to make a challenge. So had they been down to 10 men for the entire second half then who knows what might have happened.

Having said that, Argentina made the most of that stroke of good fortune and played some nice stuff without ever being at their fluent best. The Mexicans were awesome and really disrupted the Argentine's rythym. Messi had some nice touches and his little move with Tevez near the end was great to watch. Even though they scored a legitimate goal in normal time, it didn't make a great deal of difference in the end as about 7 mins later Rodriguez produces a miracle goal. I was up shouting goal as soon as it left his boot :D

No one really deserved to lose, both teams gave everything and i guess having it settled this way is better than a team losing on penalties when it comes down to it. Mexico really raised their game for this and i was very impressed by their wide players (although embaressingly i don't remember their names), especially in the first half.

The best match of the tournament by far.

Wooow, today was too much, i need a cardiologist. I almost go mad. How come SCALONI played as a RB when we allready have Sorin that is almost a midfielder. We needed another stopper, and not a midfielder turned into RB. He couldnt protect his side, and if it wasnt for Ayala we could have suffered(more). About Riquelme, he is great, i love him, but untill when is he going to play every ball to the back? And in 15 minutes of the 2nd half you could see he was tired and couldnt do anything.
For next game i hope we can have Burdisso back, or at least see Coloccini, i dont know whay crossed through Pekerman's head to put Scaloni as a RB, when our defense so far was good with 3 stoppers, and Sorin going forward as a winger.
For me the best player was Mascherano, he was everywhere in the second half, this is his normal level. Abbondanzieri was great too, he acted when needed, and always gave a sensation of safety in my opinion. Ayala and Heinze whwre great as always, and i dont know where we could be without them. And Maxi...just great, without any noice, he is being the best so far, and this goal was a big relief, had we gone to penalties, i'd be at the hospital right now.
After all this suffering, the party was big here, people went out masively into the streets, the crazines allready begon.
Next match is going to be like the final, i dont know, i think im going to have to take tranquilizers, hehe, but anyway, so far im very proud of our guys, and whatever comes next, i'll be happy.

Mexico scored two goals ;)

Borgetti (own goal) and Marquez... but Maxi's should count for 2 so I guess we're still tied...
