To carry on the reigns of Lippi Italy needed a strong personality of some one like Capello. Still Donadoni may not be bad! It's good to see a Milanista coaching the NT.

I'm happy for him but this may be risky decision. Generally Italians always go for an experienced manager for their National team which makes sucess at club level first. Sacchi - C.Maldini - Zoff - Trapattoni - Lippi. Donadoni has no experience at international level but he has qualities to become a great one.

Azzurri won the world cup and I want to ask question to disscuss about
I adore Donadoni and respect him as he was player but I still think Azzurri is much biger than Donadoni
I was expecting as Lippi retierd that Italy union will hire Caplio or some one
eles. 1-Do you all feel that Azzurri future is resk in Donadoni hand>
2-Do you think Donadoni will retired before Euro 2008
as he will think he falled?
Do you Expect Donadoni to work hard and led Azzurri succesfuly to Euro 2008?

Very good set of questions Dil. I know as a player he was a workhorse. He was under 2 very hard training coaches i.e. Sacchi and Capello. Perhaps he will be the same as a coach.
The catch of course is trying to keep any current Italian players on board. I know Totti was thinking of retiring from International games. Perhaps others like Cannavarro might follow suit. I hope many of this WC Squad will stay and confirm their supremacy by participating in Euro qualifications and the Euro 2008 itself. France team has done this over 3 World Cups and 2 Euro Championships. I dont see why the current Azzurri would not do the same. Of course fresh blood is good to have. Will he fail??? I hope not. He indeed has his work cut out for him.
Notes of interest..... that Rossi would appoint a Rossoneri great as a National Team coach seems particular to me, especially with MoggiGate and all the cr@p happening against our club. He's giving a Rossoneri a job when it is neither glorious or guranteed for continuity of success with so many current players expressing their desire to quit International games. Was this deliberate of Rossi? I hope Donadoni can confirm his greatness on the field into that of football manager. Sooner or later, he will be the coach of our beloved club.
