Each of you guys, give your 10 best moment of this WC!!.

1)Grosso's penaly no. 5 for Italia, which made us win the cup.
2) Matrix equaliser against France
3)England crashing out and loooney getting a red card. I actually was more happy that day, than I was at the Italian semifinal victory!!. Something is wrong with me!!
4)Ronaldo's last penatly against England.
5)Grosso's goal against Germany in extra time from pirlo's blind pass. I went beserk!!

Wow, I totally enjoyed WC06 b/c it was so unpredictable. I don't know if I can actually come up with 10 isolated moments or not...

And in no actual order...

--grosso's first goal...
--luca toni's 2 goals
--us beating germany
--portugal defeating england*--riccardo stopping PKs is amazing!
--brazil going OUT*
--spain going OUT*
--mexico argentina game--one of the best games imo
--us making the quarter finals
--us making the semi finals
--us winning the cup--doing it on PKs was a bonus

* I have this "thing" about any team being called a favorite and acting all snotty about it. Add France to that list and yo uhave my list of teams I'd never cheer for simply b/c of their attitudes.

now that we can look back at it, I think that had it not been for Zaccardo's owngoal in the game vs. USA, Italy wouldn't have won the title.

The reason is that, after that happened, Lippi decided to move Zambrotta to the right, and put Grosso in the line up... and it was Fabio Grosso who stole all the glory that was let go by players like Totti...

the most exciting moments where all his...

1.- the play that was called a penalty kick against Australia...

2.- the goal in the 118th minute against Germany to put Italy in the final....

3.- the last penalty kick against France...

that goal against Germany was better than the last penalty itself...

I can't stop thinking about how similar his celebration was to Marco Tardelli after his goal in the 1982 final...

this may be a bit cruel, but I'd like to add a split second right after Del Piero's goal against Germany in the last minute... when he goes running behind the net, the camera shows a devastated German girl crying in the stands...

I know it's cruel, but I will also remember that moment...

Honestly, i kept going crazy everytime Cannavaro got the ball because he was a true leader and did everything right, but these are the moments that made me go wild:

1- 10 man Italy's left back attacking in the 91st minute against a team that had all the possession and winning a penalty. Grande Grosso!

2- "GOL DI GROSSO!!! GOL DII GROOSSSSOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!! ANDIAMO A BERLINO !!! ANDIAAAAAMO A BERLINOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!"- All this commentary while Grosso running and shaking his head left and right!

3- Buffon's unbelievable save in the Ukraine game that ended up with him smashing his head on the post. What a fking amazing keeper. The best keeper in the last decade, no doubt better than Schmeichel. Also his save at the death against France in extra time, on Zidanes header.

4- Pippo totally making a clown of "The world's best keeper and the premiership's best keeper" Petr Cech!! did you guys see how he dribbled him with such ease?

5- Henry's goal vs Brazil to knock them out

6- Ricardo eliminating England + Rooney getting sent off in the Portugal game. Rooney + Ronaldo having a go at each other whilst they play for the same club!!! HAHAHA!!

7- People whining about how defensive Italy are and how we cheated against Australia and how we will never win the WC or never reach the semi's. All that whining was really music to my ears.

8- My friends laughing at me for shedding a few tears when I found out the final was to be decided on penalties and I knew that Italy had never won PK ever in WC. That fear in me turned into aggresive and vicous celebrations after Grosso's 5th PK. It also made my eyes burst into tears of joy.

Really, Grosso was our hero in this WC. He was involved in the 3 most important moments for me: The australia penalty, the germany goal, the 5th PK.

9-Maxi Rodrigues's stunning goal It was almost impossible with the fact that it was in extra time and desisive goal

10-Buffon's save against Podoski his reflaxes was almost unbelievable

11-Italian defenders Canna's stunning defending, Mettarrazi's goals and head butt inceident, Grosso's unbelievable goal and penelty incident,
Zomny's 2nd only goal for Italia after 6 years and in WC quarter final

12-Ronaldo's record breaking goal he showed HE is the BIG BOSS in yellow of Brazil

13-Zizuo's head butt I really enjoyed that moment, 2nd only to King Deigo's Hand of God

14-Figo for Portugal he played out of his skin at the age of 34 and he was the best Portegues player

15-Holland vs Portugal I enjoyed the 22 card game and the sending offs

My best moment was:
when pirlo passed the ball to grosso and the ball flew sverving in the air into the back of the net and then grosso ran filled with emotions shaking his head in the last minuted vs germany and when delpiero scored a min after that and i remember what the commentator said:

1.When del piero scored for Italy to make it 2-0 against Germany. I loved that moment because of the German fan's reaction to a charging delpiero, who was like a man on a mission pounding home that delicously served pass from Gilardino!

Because Del Piero is Juventus, I never liked nor belived in him, but after that funny celebration he displayed after scoring his goal moved me.

Not necessarily the best moments of the '06 WC, but they were the most memorable for me:

1. The vaudeville show of Graham Poll's three (!) yellow cards against Joe Simunic.

2. Dida saving Brazil's keister numerous times and shutting up the critics in the process.

3. The nerve-wracking Croatia goal (conceded by Kalac) that nearly led to the Aussies' doom.

4. Ghana's gutsy performance against Brazil.

5. Maxi Rodriguez' awesome goal.

6. The England team complaining about everything from the condition of the pitch to the "denial" of water breaks.

7. Trinidad and Tobago taking England to task up until the end.

8. The all-around quality goalkeeping that led to the low (2.3 goals/match) scoring average.

9. The Ecuadorean (I think) goalscorer with the Spiderman mask.

10. Italy/Czech Republic - Pippo schooling Petr Cech with that goal.

Every Italy match was great moments ... especially in France. Commentators were always hoping that Italy looses and it never happened.

For example, when Matrix tackled Zambrotta against Australia and took a red card if my memory isn't wrong, commentators said it was meritated because it was a terrible foul on Australian player (I didn't understand ... wtf ?! lol).

The match against Germany was emotionnally amazing ... I watched it with friends, they were for Germany ... but what a match !!

And the last but not least, the last match, the one against France. Not a very good football match, but for someone like me (French with Grandpa Italian), it was intense ...

Ace, where you there too?? I was sitting in the second tier, 5 rows back behind the goal where the goals were scored! It was awesome!! These fans sitting behind us got REAL pissed and broke a whole row of seats.
