View Full Version : Barrings, Bannings, and Warnings
Recently, the administrative team has received unjust complaints about us using its power to bar or ban members without a sound justification.
Consistent with our vision to improve our current barring/banning system, the administrative team would like to further improve the degree of transparency among the admins and the moderators. If a member is deemed guilty among the mods after repeated public and PM warning, the administrative team will 1) determine if the member should be barred or immediately banned, 2) state clearly the number of weeks that the member will be barred, 3) quote the exact rule(s) that is/are violated by the members.
We always hope that members can resolve all sort of conflicts "behind the scene", that is, without publicly posting insulting and profane comments in any thread but instead make use of Private Message to deal with an issue.

Case 1
Gre-no-li was barred for 4 weeks after making an extremely profane and indecent comment that is related to political history which, sadly, most people don't even want to talk about.
After intensive discussion among the mods, the administrative team believes that a 4-week barring based on the violation of rule II "Personal attacks or harassment of a sexual, cultural, ethnic or political nature" and rule IV "case of general malice".
He is then permenantly banned by MM after being discovered to register another username during the barring period, under the name of lindhorst, Smirnov, and Tenente-Drogo, violation of rule XI.

Bill1969 has now been banned for violation of rule 3 & 4:
"3. Repeated use of vulgarity is not to be tolerated.
4. Cases of personal threats (against any players or rest of MilanMania members) or general malice via any vehicles of communication is deemed extremely serious and will lead to an immediate and permenant ban regardless of appeal."

Case 3:
The Mods have decided that there is insufficient evidence against mzk57 for any breach of conduct.
Nevertheless, we strongly advise mzk57 to be careful with his posts, be sensible, and show respect to all Milan players and MM members. Furthermore, the administrative teams do not endorse mzk57's attitudes in general, as demonstrated by some of his recent posts. We also express strong doubt over mzk57's apology to other MM members for some of his recent comments.
We would like to remind mzk57 that his choice of words against a Milan player has been extremely irreverent and without ground. We would like to remind mzk57 that some of his posts are potential sources of breach of conduct, and his posts will be kept under evaluation by all moderators carefully in the future.
It is certainly our hope that the quality of his posts will soon improve. MM members are encouraged to 'speak up' if you have complaints over other MM members or mods via PM so that we can open a case and decide on the outcome.

Case 4:
drucurl has been barred for 4 weeks for violation of rule 7 (see below).
"Extreme disrespect such as false or unsubstantiated accusations, name-calling and threats on MM will not be tolerated."
Furthermore,
"Nevertheless, if things get out of hand because of false/unsubstantiated accusation, the administrative team has the right to bar/ban any of these MM members in order to maintain a harmonious discussion in MM."
This is also consistent with rules previously stated by the admin:
"Members who insist on continually and repeatedly being rude and disrespectful should expect consequences."
The administrative team would like to remind MM members that members who have expressed poor opinions on Gilardino is NOT barred / banned previously. This is consistent with our rule 7, given that none of the other individuals have created any problems in MM, besides perhaps a few heated exchange of words.
We would like to remind MM members here that the barred individual has been very arrogant to mods and the admin. Although this does not warrant a bar / ban (e.g., case 3), we deem his post as an unwarranted challenge against the administrative team's authority.
This is demonstrated in his recent post, "I don't get this place!", and here are some of the comments that deem extremely irreverent to the administrative teams.

I never made an official complaint to anyone, because I am quite capable of defending myself so I think its hypocritical to say that the move was made in response to my complaints. Another thing is posters are not stupid!!
Even if someone doesn't directly insult you or say that youre stupid. If they constantly refer to your ideas as "pathetic" "ricidulous" etc etc then its implied that you are thought of as being that way. This shouldn't be too hard to grasp, stupid people generally say stupid things and vice versa. Smart people also talk crap but not all the time. So people attacking you under the guise of attacking "statements" or "ideas" really doesn't fool anyone.
Having said this, at no point did I lodge a complaint to anyone. I merely expressed what in my opinion was being done.
As for the charge that arguments are poorly constructed etc etc....I thought poorly constructed arguments are easy to defeat?? If its not easily defeatable than it isn't a poor argument is it. Many here whine about there being no facts in the Anti-Gila camp when really facts were ass we referred to such as:
1) Gila has only scored two goals in all competiotions (fact)
2) Statistically speaking his goals have little effect on the course of matches ( just under 11%)
3) His CL scoring record of one goal in two seasons thus far is pathetic
These unescapable facts are used to build further arguments as to why the anti-gila Camp think Gila is poor etc etc. I think this is reasonable. If you asked me I think there is huge bias here, esp due to the fact that many mods are fans of Gila. So don't accuse me of whining. You can ban me if you want as well. :dontkn:
I know you are touchy feely anout insults etc So I haven't gone that way neither has ego or hitman to my recollection (proud members of the anti-gila camp :D )
within the ranks of the Pro-gila supporters are the fanatics, breaking the rules IMHO. Read the posts yourself and see the overall tone taken by the pro-gila camp :d6:

Bear in mind that the administrative team is extremely tolerant in our exercise of administrative control, but some inappropriate posts have been way over the limit and warrant a bar. We strongly discourage any disrespectful and rude posts like this, especially against our admin here, in the future.
