I think it is not us who want any particular team to face but all the teams in this list want us as 1/6 oppenent. Sad, sad.

There is a long time untill February and the other teams can say or feel whatever they want.

Sempre Milan!

Milan are particularly worried about Barca, well in a way if kind of hope Milan meet them so they will be forced to work! But Feb is a long way away to hopefully Milan will have made some changes by then!

You can't turn a gimp in Arnold Schwarzenegger in less than 3 months... we're already dead, but we don't know it yet. Let's try our best to win the Coppa Italia.

Ancelotti said it perfectly when they asked him who does he wanna face in the 1/8 finals.
He said : Barcelona !!!

I'm sure noone will be happy to get Milan, i know i wouldn't want my team to get Milan ( if my team was there..grrrr).
Forget about last 2 needless ( is there a word needless ???:) ) matches in CL and forget about serie A.
Champions league is a different level where tradition and experience count more than current form ( and i say current form, which means you have to make a difference between Milan in early December and Milan in mid February).
Hell, as much as i don't like it, Milan does have the tradition, the experience and the great team to go far in CL. Zlatanov wrote a great post about why is Milan underperforming, and how it has to do a lot with the physical condition. Milan will have some 3 weeks rest from playing in CL or serie A in January, which can be used for hard trainings, so Pirlo, Gattuso and many others will have time to get back to the form and condition they had during summer WC and before that. Add 1-2-3 new players in January, and you get a team even Barcelona will be scared to play against in the 1/8 finals.

Oh, and the draw is on December 15 ... 8 days from now !

you might be surprised what a little time and change in attitude - as in being more alert and concentrated - can do to a team.
One thing's for sure though, if your approach is "no, can't do" then believe you me, you wont do.
let's not be so quick to bury this team just yet and give it some more time.

maybe REAL Madrid, if we beat them we got our 'trust in team' back

Until I see different, I will reiterate what I said on the Lille thread...we will lose whomever we play, if we dont improve...and seeing is believing.

So much for sunshine...the forecast is for cloudy skies, with a great chance for rain in the hilly interior..forget that..all island rain.

Milan played bad against Lille, but to write us off as dead is silly. Results haven't been great but performances have not been poor by any means. Milan was only outplayed in the first half against Inter this season not including wednesday's game against Lille where we pretty much outplayed ourselves more then Lille outplayed us. I understand that the results are pretty bad but we are as dangerous as any other top seed in there and i will bet you that despite our results outher teams would want to avoid us more then anyone else out there except for maybe Lyon.

If it turns out that we really have no chance, then I hope we draw Barca and get things over with so we can focus on Serie A.

But I refuse to believe that we're completely hopeless. If there's any team that can turn things around and start winning again despite everything going against them, it's Milan. We just need to start developing a winning streak (in any combination of leagues)-- with enough momentum, we should be able to successfully take on any of those sides.

I hope we get Man U because its a great feeling beating them at Old Trafford and it brings back the good memories of 2003 season. :D Along with that I also hope they bring back Roy Carrol. He is a great GK. :haha:

Carroll aint coming back :D

At least you acknowledge the defeat was very much down to a keeping error rather than the 'thrashing' i occasionally read about

anyway, Milan really wouldnt want to play Utd now, back then Rooney and Ronaldo were 18 year old kids, now they are really beginning to show their potential. Rooney is a constant threat, 2nd top scorer and has the most assists in the Premiership, Ronaldo has now discovered the meaning of end product and is as good as any player on the planet on current form. On top of that, VDS is a top class keeper, the defence is far more solid and the midfield is better balanced ;)

Milan_Mad
10-12-2006, 10:15
Yh Ronney and Ronaldo are really showing potential, Ronaldo has not scored in the CL for Man Utd in 24 games and Ronney got 3 on his debut and not scored since whats going on there :p017:

Lillie is the worst team in 1/8, for Milan i would take without any doubt Celtic (difficult stadium to play but Porto have even better players than Celtic who only have that japanese guy).
Real Madrid also could be a good and easy rival, and probably a very good match to see, Capello vs Ancelotti again.

Btw u guys can't see ManU.

Never searched for odds on this. This is pure gambling and luck. I want to depend on my knowledge much more than on my luck !

But odds for guessing one pair should be around 5.00 ( 1 pound to win 5 pounds). To guess all 8 pairs ( which is impossibile) you can get 400 000 pounds for 1 pound !

It's starting !

There are no easy opponents in this phase ofCL but if there is one team that could be seen as "easier" than the others, that's Celtic ... and it's a team we've played against recently so we are well aware what awaits us in Scotland.
Based on merits and form of the opponnt, I don't think the draw could have been any more "favourable" for Milan. Let's hope we'll take advantage of that and don't do an "Inter" on ourselves.

And now with Celstic!

And then we drawed with lyon??Last year we were not lucky at the draws! This year we are!

Back in 2003 I was in Milan and somehow I made the mistake to go to an INTER game. It was the CL quarterfinals and they were playing none other than Valencia. I tell you, it was a big mistake going to the game. So boring the INTER ultras are! The fans were soooo mean to there own players. They jeered at Crespo, at Bobo, at Conseicao, Coco was booed off when he got seriuosly injured. They were more mean to there own players than they were against the opponents Valencia. I have to say that I do not consider it a hallmark event of my life at all. I must have been soooo desperate to watch a game, I made the mistake to watch them. LOL! But I did enjoy cheering for Valencia at that game. Does Aimar still play there? Its been a while since I follwed them so I dont know. He was really good at the time. I wonder how he's doing now?

zlatanov
15-12-2006, 07:24
Aimar is no longer at Valencia. He was transfered to real zaragoza, I think. Still, they have made some big changes and have improved the team a lot this year, although their recent results have been less than ipressive due to some injuries.

Personally, I'd say Nakamura is a very dangerous player for them, but during his time in Italy we should have gotten to know about him.

I wouldn't underestimate Celtic, especially considering how we've been playing lately. Should be a classic environment, as both sets of fans are well known for great support of their clubs.

yeah, he's indeed out of there, although I could hhave thought of better destinations than Aston Villa
anyways, as Dev said, Nakamura is their brain in midfield and is the one we should expect to build their play. The rest of his teammates are mostly about heart and muscle so any creativity in midfield would be coming from him. Not to mention how dangerous he is from free kicks.
Another dangerous player, and he's a player Milan knows well, is former PSV striker and Dutch nobleman Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink, who can be a real menace in the air.
Gravessen and Lennon are also players to keep a close eye on as they would give us a hard time in the battle for midfield.
