Good time to talk servers?

Hey is it a good time to talk about servers and stuff?

We've talked about serveers before. People always think we can get away with the cheapest solution, but everyone needs to be aware that a cheap solution that doesn't meet our requirements--which Rez can post so we can discuss it--will affect performance of the forums.

Cheap or expensive, what we just went thru should also show us that any server can be a victim of a virus, unfortunately.

I have come to the conclusion tho that since we continually have to beg to funding, perhaps we SHOULD just chose a cheaper server, make the move and let people deal with it. Running forums landed Jan (our original creator) into quite a pile of debt. I've seen the consequences and as a result, I say right here and now, as I have several times in the past--NO ONE should go into debt keeping MM online. If we're not meeting our server costs every month with the donations being made, I vote for selecting a cheaper solution and simply making the move.

Rez...anyone...what can you add? Rez, if you'd post the specs again so people can see what we are currently running on and why, that would probably help!
