What a refreshing post this is. Thank you for these kind words and thank you to the Man U fans also, for creating that electric atmosphere the Old Trafford is famous for. See you at the San Siro! :D

It's the police you have to worry about, in Italy they're often more dangerous than the opposition ultras even. Also Roma but especialy Lazio are amongst the worst violent Ultra groups in Italy there is no real comparison with the teams from northern Italy in grades of violence. Just stay clear of the guys with the skull scarves if Milan doesn't qualify and you'll be fine. Rule number one on the road or even at home should be : never wear scarves, don't jump up when your team scores if you're sitting in opposition stands on your own (I had a difficult time in Anderlecht this year by just doing that when Kaka scored the 0-1 there lol)

Speaking of fanatics here's a real life anecdote, I may drop dead on the spot if I lie, but sometimes reality > fiction .

In a Easter holiday with my parents in Italy almost 25 years ago me and my dad went to see Ancona vs Pisa and we saw a carrabinieri (Italian cop) wearing an Ancona shirt under his uniform, he had two buttons open and we distinctively saw the red & white shirt from the home team. That drew my attention and I observed what he did pre-match from the stands I was seated with my dad.

He was on duty in the opposition stands, the visiting side Pisa have black and blue colors so easy to spot in an all red and white stadium lol and he discretely showed his shirt from under his unform to every oppostion fan that passed by him with a "make my day" look on his face... there was no trouble and the match ended in an Ancona win, but that cop is surely the most fanatic (besides me when it comes to Milan of course) peep I ever saw in a football stadium and I been to many, from England to Germany, Holland, Belgium, France ect :) And that was Italian Serie C2 back then (fourth division) lol
