Guys I am having some problems with MM, some time when I open a page only the upper parts of the page are loaded while the rest of the page dont,ie only MM logo appears while the rest of the page looks like a black space, when it happened to me for the first time I thought the my PC is virused :pchate: or something so I used another one one, needless to say that the same thing happened, any ideaes?
Did it happen as you posted this thread? I see a few high loads sometimes which could mean the site might be slow so you don't see the page load completely and only the black background for example.

No it did not it was working when I posted this, but this was the only section working while all the other fourms were not responding!

Rezag I am stuck with this fourm now, its the only place that works, what should I do?
You said you have used 'another one' on your first post. You mean you have used other computer, right?
Have you tried to open this website with other internet explorer like Mozilla Firefox (or others)?
hany.Egypt

I am using Mozilla at the moment no differance.
If you can see this please try a trace route. Here's how (for XP and other Windows):
Click Start-->All Programs -->Accessories-->Command Prompt, once there type this:
tracert milanmania.com
Copy pasting the trace route results is a bit different from the usual windows method. You have to right click the little c:\ icon on the top left of the command prompt window and choose Edit--->Mark, then you can hold down left mouse button and move over and cover the results, once they are covered ctrl-c to copy and ctrl-v to paste it where ever (here or email it to me, rezaglls AT hotmail DOT com)
If you can copy paste what you see it would be great, it will give me clues as to whats happening from you to the server.

I followed the steps, and when I typed tracert milanmania + enter the following appeared
tracing route to milanmania.com [72.249.28.85]
1 167 ms 171 ms 187 ms host -196-205-1-43.static.link.com.eg
then samilar lines from 2 to 24
then Trace complete.
If it reaches Trace complete and shows that IP address 72.249.28.85 then there should be no problem reaching the forums, you could try the same thing but with a 'www' and see if the results are the same
tracert www.milanmania.com

I did what you asked me to do and it reaches Trace complete and shows that IP address 72.249.28.85, now its time for explainations as I dont understand any thing of that :) :)
Sorry for the late reply, this is a short definition of traceroute
"traceroute is a computer network tool used to determine the route taken by packets across an IP network"
What it means is that by doing a traceroute you can see what happens and where your request goes when you type milanmania.com in your browser for example. The hops you see for example "p4-1-2-0.r00.amstnl02.nl.bb.verio.net" mean that your request to load the site is passing through a different router (the machines responsible for connecting internet basically) before reaching the destination (our server)
The reason traceroute is used to make sure you can actually reach here and its not one of the hops in between that is causing the problem, if one of the hops before you reach the destination is like "* * *" it often (but not necessarily always) means something is wrong on the way. If our server is completely down you most likely won't see anything at all when you traceroute, you may only get a message like 'unable to resolve...'
About the errors you get while here, there can be many reasons. One reason could be that the network is slow, in that case some may be able to load the site faster depending on their location or on when they exactly click to get here and move around the forum.
If its a problem on the server then all should see experience the same or at least notice errors.

OK Rezag here is another problem, everytime I click on any thing in this site, ie trasfers Ac Milan fourms, Games and tactics, etc the loading bar in the bottom corner in the screen appears but nothing happens and I must right click the title the open in a new window to open it! Any suggestions?
Some of you may have noticed the site was down for short time. This is a message from Rezag, who has been in touch with the server folks aoubt the problem!
This morning, my time (EST) I noticed the site was crawling and the load on the server was high.
I opened a support ticket with the server people, as of now 1:20PM ET the reply I got was:
---
Hello Reza,
The server was experiencing load due to large number of apache connections from some IPs. We have blocked those IPs. Now the server load is normal. Please verify this at your end.

A new window always improves it?
I am trying to find reasonable ways to speed up page loads, will be tweaking some database settings very soon.

A new window always improves it?
not always, lets say nearly always.
I forgot to say that I did not face any problems today, hope nothing will happen latter.
Let me know if it happens again.
Not really sure what could cause that, I am in the process of trying to make the forum run faster with a few things like decreasing load and database caching. Not yet all done but hoping they make a difference.

There is something that I forgot to mention it to you lattely I started to use Dial up connection in stead of the ADSL for some reasons, nearly in the same time when these problems started to appear, could this be a reason?
Slower connection speeds don't help, that could be part of the reason, so in general yes. But if you wait and the site doesn't load but other sites are ok then maybe not.

Some of you may have noticed the site was down for short time. This is a message from Rezag, who has been in touch with the server folks aoubt the problem!
This site is becoming impossible to use in general, but in particular in the daytime. I don't know if anyone else tried to visit milanmania this morning, but it was a lost cause.
I know there is an announcement from the 15th. This problem seems to occur daily for me. All other sites work fine.
I have put in a firewall that should help lower the load and speed up the site. The next step is to optimize the database. I hope these two measures help.
The firewall is perhaps too sensitive but we can adjust that somewhat, I put a new announcement in regards to that.

Rezag, I need your help is something nor realted to MM, some body hakes my PC and I dont know how could I stop him, he has not done any thing bad, just he send me messages like you PC is Zero protected, I can burn you, blah, blah, blah, Who could I protect my self?
Its possible that thats just something meant to scare you. If you want you can write me all the details of the messages and is it a person sending you messages or a pop-up when you turn on the computer or browser?
rezagca : AT : gmail : DOT : com
I hope the page to be ok because i faced some difficulties the previous days, you two make us experience only the perfect conditions of a website.
Please see the current announcements and also my email address I posted above. If there are problems feel free to contact me and I'll reply as soon as I can.

do u have any firewalls or so?
like Norton, NOD32 etc etc...
I dont, and i havent got that message, maybe its a website you visited or something?

Maybe just reinstall the whole system?
Hi Guys,
For a couple of days I couldnt open this website. I tried www.milanmania.com or www.milanmania.com/forums/ but it showed that the site didnt exist. I have tried to open this site since thursday I think, but it didnt work.
I am now opening this site from an internet cafe. I thought the site had problem, but the fact is I can open the site from internet cafe.
Anyone can tell me what happen? Why couldn`t I open this website?
Out of topic (nothing to do with opening this site):
Someone knows my IP and he said that he has targeted/hit my IP (I dont know the word for 'hitting IP/make someone's internet very slow) yesterday on saturday so my connection got slow (yes, the connection was really bad on that saturday). How could they do it? How could I protect my connection (without changing IP) if somebody already knows my IP?
I am sorry for this out-of-topic questions.

you have a network router?
if so, try putting a pass for it, maybe its one of your neighbours :D
if not, you'll have to call your ISP for an IP Change, i dont know any other sulotions..

About getting to the site, go here www.whatismyip.com and email me your IP. Might be the site firewall blocking you. rezagca : AT : gmail : dot : com.
I will try to unblock you or email you before you read this too.
@rezag
Thank you, rezag. I forget my IP, I will send it to you when I am at home (if I still can't open the website.
@_Ace :
I live in a student dormitory so the internet is from the dormitory. Actually, it's not my computer IP that they know but the other IP (the IP detected when I go to a IP-detector website. This Ip is diffrent to IP that is showed when I click the LAN-connection on the right side of bottom bar.
Sorry for the inconvenience, since yesterday I have relaxed the firewall rules a bit but there is possibility that a few may be blocked.
I also couldn't get to this website for a couple days(I wrote you on Facebook, Reza) but the problem seems to have been fixed.
rezag; relaxing the firewall restriction seems to do me good these days as I have no problem with accessing the web. Just to let you know to make you feel better :D. - J
I didn't log in there but I should because thats one good way of communicating, it is possible that your IP was blocked and lifted by the firewall itself.
lol Jeff, I hope I can find the happy medium between protection and false blocks :D
spam has certainly gone down for the past few days I feel rezag, or is it just me that I didn't see those spams coz you have been fast enough to delete them :)? - J
Spam hasn't gone down much if at all, but I think the firewall is helping a bit on the overall load that was slowing down the site. I guess the issue is will it continue to work well but at the same time not block actual good IPs.
One small test was during today's game, the site was busy but it didn't slow down much as far as I can see.

ive heard a couple of people having problems accessing the site. It could be something maybe to do with domain name, Bt blocked myspace for a week because they couldnt believe the amount of hits it got a day or something. So it could be something to do with that?
Not getting to MM when the site is otherwise up is likely our own firewall, but there are other possibilities too.
hany, I think you should go to http://www.safer-networking.org/en/download/index.html and download Spybot - Search & Destroy 1.5.1, after you downloaded it open it and click 'search for updates', pick a location if it asks you then update, after the update click on 'check for problems' and see if it finds any spyware

I have trouble opening the site too. If I shut down my DSL modem over the night ( to change my ip ) then I can open this site. IT doesnt tell me that I banned or anything, just tells me that it cant open the page. Help?
Can you please email me your current IP address, not sure why it should be like that.

Can you please email me your current IP address, not sure why it should be like that.
ok I did e-mail it to you. It sucks when I cant access the forum, I so used to it.
Rez, i've had trouble getting onto the forums at certain parts of the day and i know 1 or 2 other people who have had the same difficulty or in 1 case they can't get onto the site at all.
I wish i could give you more info, though i guess it's an IP address problem :dontkn:
Besides emailing me an IP the best way, if possible, is to do a traceroute to the site and see if its reaches destination, if not where does it start giving something like:
* * *
instead of something like
50ms 60ms 55ms
i remember doing a tracerout before, but now i've forgotten  Can you remind me please RG :D
Thanks for correcting the error Rezag :5ok: I know I didn't send you my IP address by e-mail (was kinda busy) but thanks a lot anyway . The page still doesn't load sometimes but if I refresh it a couple times it comes back :) (i'm beginning to wonder if it's a local server issue)
Jim, in the windows command prompt (under accessories) type
tracert milanmania.com
dru,
Its possible that the server itself is not as fast as it can be, most likely cause is just congestion and traffic on it but other reasons exist for sure too.
another error report, if somebody cares :)
I haven't been able to access this forum for over a week now.
When I try to access it and eventually gives "an error loading"...
I have tried to use proxy now and it works.
I talked to my friend who is in a different country and he wasn't able to access it either.
I personally am fine connecting through a proxy, just want to know what the problem is (did you change the port? ip exceptions?...)
Thanks if you look into it...
Can you please send me your IP?

Help, this place has become impossible! I am using 512 Kb/Sec ADSL and still have problem in loading and logging in.
Rezag please do something
Is it often or always like that? In that case its likely somewhere outside of our control, I have noticed periods where the site is slow but not very often, at least not in the past few days. Please send me a traceroute when you notice its very slow.

OK I will, and thanks for your help, I know that I turned to be a moaning box lately, umm and there is something I noticed which is that certain places respond heavier/slower that the other (like games & tactics) while the other parts work better , I could be mistake though..
Its no problem and its not moaning, just not sure what is causing your issue in particular
For some reason, I can't access this forum from my home computer. I'm not entirely sure what is wrong.
Please email me your home IP.
I may have to reconsider this firewall somehow, but we will see about that I guess.

Some thing like one hour earlier and yes its from the same computer that I made my post with and every thing is fine at the moment.
I wasn't able to find anything in the error logs for that period that would explain your issue, please when it happens again post the time it happened
just a follow up to the Hany's post..
When i access the site from my computer, it also times out. I suspect it's firewall.
Anyway, If you guys need a proxy to access this site I suggest backfox.com
works for me
Forward, we sometimes have load issues which we try to mitigate by limiting excessive connections or banning the IPs who are accessing with excessive connections, but if there is an issue that you can't get to the site at all please email your IP and traceroute if possible so maybe I can help to connect without proxy.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
rezag,
what's your email address?
Please see post 32 in this thread (the reason I am not typing it again is because the more I do the more like its going to be spammed)
Yesterday I couldn't access this site but unfortunately I forgot to write down the IP I used to log into internet. I am using internet from private provider now and I have dynamic IP. It's ok if sometime I can't use this site as I can relogin to internet to get new IP as long as my provider's IPs are not blocked. :D

hany, it is very odd that it ultimately reached destination that way, some of the things you could try are flushing your DNS tables (I can show you how if you want), although it really looks like a routing problem not related to your computer but an internet provider.
remote2book, the firewall might have unbanned your IP as it sometimes does. If it happens again please email me.
