In one CD player I have Eiffel 65, and that is what I do aerobics to.

In the other bigger CD player, my roomie has one of Andrea Boccelli's CD's, I forget the title of it, and that is for our Milan good luck ritual.....

Most of the time I listen to U2 or REM! I also love oldies like Don McLean, Jimi Hendrix, the Beatles etc.!

Adriano Celentano has some great songs too! When I celebrated my first scudetto (1995/96) as Milan fan I heard 'Una festa sui prati'! This was a very emotional moment and since then I love this song!

Hey OlsonT, I'm a huge Doors fan myself! Do you have any boots from them? I have a few if you're interested. My favorites are the Matrix Tapes (San Francisco, March 1967) and Westbury Music Fair (Long Island, NY, April 1968). I have some others on tape as well. Have you surfed the official website lately? The Doors will be releasing some live shows soon :D. I can't wait...

When I'm not marinating myself in copious amounts of Doors music I'm listening to the Phil Hendrie Show Best of 2000 (hilarious stuff, have any of you in the States heard his radio show?) and The Mamas and the Papas (John Phillips RIP).

Tim
27-03-2001, 00:30
goose, I guess you could say I've only 'discovered' The Doors recently, so I only have two of their albums - The Doors and LA Woman -, but not any boots. Favourites include: Riders On The Storm, The Crystal Ship, and of course the famous The End.

...and yes, I've been to their website. Quite interesting.

Well, what's in my CD player appears to be a slice of toast (butter and raspberry jam), soaked in Buckfast and Strong White Cider. Heh, that was one heck of a party....

Anyway, when I get it repaired (and pay a visit to the guilty person/persons) what I'll be playing is going to be "Otis Redding - The Definitive Collection". That guy can sing....

Debs, are Eifel 65 the guys who 'sang' (in the loosest possible sense of the word) "Blue"? Because is they are, you need seriouss help....

I listen to mostly "punk rock" whatever that may be. In my cd player is normally A.F.I.- The Art of Drowning, Nerve Agents- Days of the White Owl, Fairweather- If they Move, Kill Them, Zao, At the Drive-In, Saves the Day, Refused...

HEHE if you like to listen to political rock type stuff ala RAGE I suggest you download songs from another defunct band Refused, like New Noise and The Deadly Rythm. Its a little harder than Rage but they no doubt have talent, a message and they are from Sweden. Ever heard of?

"And how can we expect anyone to listen if we are using the same old voice?
We need new noise, new art for the real people.
We lack the motion to move to the new beat.
We dance to all the wrong songs and we enjoy all the wrong moves."

Right now i'm listening to the great

Soft Cell- Tainted Love ,

which was covered by that horrible tune of Marylin Manson some years ago.

The original is awesome.
Something strange for my electronica tastes, but i like to hear a lot of different things to get inspiration and mixes different things on the turntables.

This record of 1995 will be soon on my turntables (hopefully)

It's a ragga jungle record suitable for hardtechno sets as well, with some mixed hip hop/ragga sampled voices.

Man...for the past two weeks I've been surviving on nothing but these two songs by The Speaking Canaries. They're from Pittsburgh and they are truly rockin'. They sort of sound the way Van Halen would sound if Eddie Van Halen had grown up in the early 1990s instead of the 1970s. Indie-rock mixed with a bit of old school guitar-gunslinging riffiness...if you catch my drift...

If you guys go to www.scatrecords.com/canaries.htm you can have a listen for yourselves. "Menopause Diaries" is fantastic, but the guitar break in "Last Side of Town, Pt. 2" is something to behold...

Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody, We will rock you (We are the Champions), Another one bites the dust

S&G's Mrs Robinson, and others who's names I can't remember right now

Beatles Strawberry fields, and a bunch of their other good stuff....

For the tek boys this is one of my fav tracks; the records is from 2000 it's called "Labrat Audiochemicals 2000" and the artist is Crystal Distortion, a french dj aka Simon.

I usually play this track a little bit faster, more or less at 175 bpm.The quality of mp3 is not excellent, so the bass line loose something

Music is very important in my life. I buy lot's of CD's (yes I'm still a fool who doesn't download:eek: ) Rock music is a great part of my life.

songs?mmmm.. i can post for you some links where u can download a full live set or dj set, starting from 15 /20 minutes.. for the songs it's difficult because it's very hard music to find

my tech muzic is very underground, it's not german techno like, it comes from france basically and it's full of reggae or drumnbass/jungle samples..it is danced in old abandoned factories, not in discos.

NETWORK 23/ SPIRAL TRIBE CREW

Tracks
http://nw23.fdread.org/4curley.mp3 ------->excellent!!!! speedier as i like tek (Crystal Distortion) about 7 minutes

http://nw23.fdread.org/bordell23.mp3 -------> very good (prefer the other one) (Crystal Distortion) about 5 minutes

Live set: (1 hour and 13 minutes)

It's not true, it's a common opinion but wrong, just if you use a drum machine and samples it doesn't mean it's easy, or everyone can do it...everyone can do an acceptable job, but i'm speaking on great records of this music, made by people who plays live for hours sending every sample manually (and believe me, it's very difficult) and has great talent on the music, as shown by many artistes who have experienced their talent in every genre of electronic music.

these dj's are producers as well and for most of them when they become big, they start to play live as well with drummachines and other instruments

If you mean a member of an orchestra is more talented than a dj/producer i don't agree, just agree that he plays a more difficult and complex stile of music..That's because talent is shown in every expression of music and art in general, and i know many electronic producers that have revolutionized the music more than the greatest part of acustic musicians (Prodigy have literally taken a new era to the whole music movement, after them many rock band have started to use synths in their music and pop as well now is the son of that electronic revolution)

Obviously playing Bach at the piano is more difficult, i'm not stupid, but the beauty of electronic music, as it has been for hip hop in the '80, is that everyone if has talent and struggle, and practice, can become part of the scene. That's what fascinates me, and the underground feeling is exciting (going to find rare records, discover semi unknown artistes)...

I know you like HARDTECHNO, but what is your opinion on DR. Kucho's things?...

As for me, I like rap and rnb, and some light electronic music. oh, forgot, Jamiroquai rules too!

electronica is a concept but basically refused by many artistes who don't want to be joined in a meaningless movement..everyone expresses it's own style
When we speak about electronica we are referring to groups like Chemical Brothers, Prodigy and the next generation, with artistes like Daft Punk, Air or Propellerheadz
Prodigy found their style before everyone, and the first records were made by accelerating the broken beats of hip hop old school in the late 80 and complemeting it with acid grooves taken by acid house and house from chicago, which arrived in europe in the late 80 (the hystorical Second Summer of Love)

drumnbass is a music conceived as mix of techno and reggae/hip hop, basically it's all uptempo, at 180/190 bpm, and it's composed by drums and basslines, with some funky or reggae sample
drumnbass is a concept, because this music has been divided into thousand of genres (like jungle, raggajungle, experimental broken beats----------> http://www.compsoc.man.ac.uk/~network23/mp3/mp3down.gif etc..)
often there are vocal mixes and this music is at his best with reggae or hip hop singers or samples. (check the SAMPLE SUPER SHARP SHOOTER http://www.tamtamrecords.pl/labels/...e/ganja_kru.mp3)

speed garage is out of my experience, i don't know it very well (electronic usic has hundreds of genres and sub genres!!)

part
La french house is part ofhe house movement..artistes of the french house are DIMITRI FROM PARIS, BOB SINCLAR, CASSIUS, DAFT PUNK, MODJO (?NOT SURE) and AIR. french house is a cathegory of a whole french movement started from house but evolved in many directions, inspired by the finest side of electo sounds..it's basically composed by house beats (usually french house is downtempo 115 bpm) and funky soulful classy old fashioned sounds..search something of Dimitri to have an idea.
The other artistes have each one his style, and their productions are based on different genres and mixes of house, electro, 70/80 sounds and other grooves.

Listen these samples of classic house/70 grooves :
mms://mms.content.loudeye.com/600005/o/019/47/50/0194750_0103_00_0655.asf (MUSIQUE- KEEP ON JUMPIN')

mms://mms.content.loudeye.com/600005/o/019/47/50/0194750_0103_00_0655.asf (MUSIQUE- PUSH IN THE BUSH)

i have some records of dr.kucho, it's spanish house, basically tribalistic. i like them, even if i play classic house, funky soulful, and rare grooves like 70/80' records, both 33 rpm and 45.

If you like Dr. Kucho search for this record:

What's in my CD-Player ?

Kosheen

But i'd like some of my mate's tunes ... he has a cd of remixes ... like Micheal Jackson's "Bad" to the tune of "Ghostbusters" .... or Vanilla Ice's "Ice Ice Baby" to the tune of Bon Jovi's "Livin' on a Prayer" ... it's all good stuff ;)

That's right Argo, their latest album is quite different to their last one.

But you have to love tracks like "Slip n slide suicide" amongst others ... very meaty beats on that.

I also quite like some of the newer stuff from The Lost Prohpets .. but i don't have any of their albums.

Aerosmith have many many great songs.

My personal favorite is Dream On, but I like tons of them. Amazing, What it takes, Falling in Love... , Mama Kin, Cryin', Lay it Down, The Other Side, Rag Doll, and so on, and so on... ... ... . All songs you can sing with loudly in the shower, car, ... .

Pantera, real classic stuff. :respect:
That guitar solo in 'The Sleep' by Dimebag Darrel, it's almost to sweet for the ears to hear. Tears of joy run down my face, shivers through my spine, every time I hear that.

Vulgar display of power is another classic of them.

Now listening to Down - Nola. It's a project of Phil Anselmo (singer of Pantera with members of Corrosion of Conformity) Great album, but quite different from the Pantera songs.

I have a love/hate relationship with Guns n Roses. November Rain is strong, but bordering on "poodle rock".

I am right now listening to Tomahawk, (Mike Patton from Faith No More's new band). Both their albums are about a serial killer, allthough lyrics have not been released.

"Jock-strack, you rap, G-string I sing" is one of many memorable quotes...:)
