Massimo Ambrosini
Firstly I think his perfomances recently have shown imprvement. However what I'd like to ask is, do people think that he could be used as a defender in the future? When I look at his game I think he has most of the skils required for CB and many quality CB's sarted as midfielders. Am I living in a Football Manager style dream or does anybody else see this?

I share this view with you, but unlike guys like Mattius and Helgera and even Rai of Brazil, Ambro is more a front CB to fight for position instead of a Sweeper like CB to clean up at the back as those I mentioned.
As long as we have someone like T. Sliva or Nesta to partner Ambro, he will be great, but if the partner is Bonera or Kaladze, that will be trouble. |

No, even though Ambrosini is a great defensive player he can still get up and have some chances as you saw with the recent 5-1 win.
Gattuso is also out, so he could play as a CB but he never will, he will help hold the Midfield while Gattuso is out. |

as you mentioned, i have noticed him playing very well these past few games...i've always liked watching him play. he really hustles and reminds me of a smaller, lighter version of gattuso

I also think he would make a good villian in a Bond movie, but that's another matter. I was thinking more of him there next year when Gattuso was back, but he's definetly a good player to have in the squad.

i always thought of him one of the best players at the club
i think he was the best last year and one of the best this year also he can attack and defend with same percentage he can cross the ball better than most of our backs and he is a talented header and he is good also at passing now i feel he is playing calm games , b4 he used to rush and make silly mistakes from time to time so now i think he can make a very good CB indeed , but like said in this topic beside Nesta |

Big blow. The Van Bommel deal doesn't seem so bad now actually
