have u guys heard of the movie "the Notebook"? it came out in the summer when i wasn't here, but my friends and i planned on watching it...and since i wasn't there, nobody watched it! lol.
word on the streets is that it's an amazing movie, but very emotional. a lot of tears being shed by girls i heard it's not advised to be watched if you live far from your boyfriend, because it makes you want to be with that person even more! so don't watch it ladies if you are in that situation! it's not in the movie theatres here anymore...after it comes out on video i'd like to watch it...but closer to the month of march, when i have someone to look forward to

Never seen the Notebook, but could be interesting.
I watched two films last night. The first was Alive by Ryuhei Kitamaru (director of Versus and Azumi). Its a Japanese film based on a manga and is a psychological drama/action/scifi film. Very good film and imo the best Kitamaru film I've seen to date. However, if people are expecting just pure action throughout, like in other Kitamaru films, then you might be disappointed, this film is quite deep. The second film was the Enforcer, with Jet Li. I had to watch it dubbed, which was strange and stupid (they got some 20+ year old to dub for a 10 year old kid). The film itself isn't too bad and has some good action, but it has some really bad plot holes and certain parts are just rubbish. Not a Jet Li classic, but watchable |

Watched Dodgeball yesterday(finally).
For those who haven't watched, skip this review as I do not want to spoil your expectation on the movie. For those who has watched, please proceed. You have been warned. My review: The title is simply disappoint me. Dodgeball : A True Underdog Story. The latter part of the title is simply unnecessary and makes the movie so damn predictable. Earlier this week, I was expecting a good movie with a good twist in Dodgeball. But after purcashing my ticket, I realised that the movie isn't called "Dodgeball" but "Dodgeball- A True Underdog Story." I lost my interest in watching straight away. Surely I love happy-ending movie, but if you tell me beforehand, I really don't like it. Ask any kids over 7 years old, and they will tell you that the movie is going to be a happy ending. So, whats the point of watching something that you know the outcome beforehand? As for the movie itself; not too bad that it involves a few twists, which are predictable by me anyway But generally quite pleasant to be watch. With some cruel scene being involved and ouch.. imagining getting hit by a hammer in the head seems to be painful isn't it? I don't know whether to laugh or to be disgusted when the coach asked the "four-eyed" guy to cross the road, saying "If you can dodge the vans, you can dodge the ball." In the movie, you get hit by the car, you can stand up again and do your daily routines the very next day. But in real live, spending several weeks in the hospital's bed is considered lucky than rest in peace forever, sure I know the feeling as I was hit by a big car when I was a kid. Ok, I won't be saying that the movie is bad, but if you stay for the movie till the very end, you will be seeing the "fat-version" of Ben Stiller, who roughly suggests "American viewers don't like to think, just serve them a movie with happy ending and they will like it. Bad guys get beaten by good guys." To certain extent, I am not American and I don't live in USA so I can't tell for sure what their thought about this. However, what he is saying is true. I prefer movie which touches my heart, makes me think and not just a happy ending. I am not sure whether my expectation for the movie was too good that I became this disappointed, but to their credit, if you just want to laugh and see the bad guys get kicked in the ass by the magical good guys, this is a movie for you. Well, a few scene do crack me up a bit. out of 5.
