on channel 4 theres a new article, oddo is ripping lazio and their shoddy managing, he wants out after this season and is begging for a move to milan. I knew this would happen, oddo will be ours along with poulsen and I think thats it in terms of our transfers for next year.

Oddo slams 'shoddy' Lazio
channel4.com
Tuesday 28 February, 2006
After Fabio Liverani's threats to quit Lazio, now Massimo Oddo has joined in by slamming a club that is 'shoddily run' and looking to a future at Milan.

“This team is made up of loan players, co-ownerships and people in the final few months of their contracts,” explained the full-back. “This situation is not helping, as we lack the relaxed atmosphere and the spirit needed to create a united side.”

Oddo is only the latest star name to voice his anger at the way President Claudio Lotito is handling the club, which he saved from bankruptcy.

“Just think that there are no talks about renewing Coach Delio Rossi’s contract despite the fact he’s doing well this season with a team that was built for less prestigious ambitions than a UEFA Cup place. This club is shoddily run.”

The comparison with a jubilant Roma side, who beat Lazio in the derby on Sunday to achieve a record 11th straight Serie A victory, is inevitable.

“Luciano Spalletti did brilliantly to unite the squad, because without that sense of team spirit, you won’t get anywhere,” continued Oddo.

Speaking from the Coverciano training ground ahead of Italy’s friendly with Germany, the defender spoke candidly about his future.

“I have never said that I’d stay with Lazio forever. I will always be grateful to a club that believed in me and allowed me to challenge for important objectives, but things have changed and it’s disappointing to go back to the level I was at with Hellas Verona.”

Oddo has long been linked with a move to Milan and he all but announced the ticket up north was in his pocket.

“I challenge anyone in this situation to reject an offer from a club that allows you to play in Europe. I owe a great deal to Lazio, which is precisely why this scenario disappoints me so much. I am a professional and I want to win, so if I get an opportunity to improve myself, I’ll do everything to ensure that goes through.”

President Lotito hit back with a statement of his own, claiming the players are only after wage rises.

“People are trying to destabilise the club and my position, but I will carry on, especially for all those who told me that for the first time in 20 years they didn’t fear a tax inspection. I only want Lazio to grow on solid foundations rather than quicksand.”

just when I said that, this came up in the official website:

Translated with a program (easier and funnier) see how Abbiati's name was translated as "it has to you"... and Amoroso as "Loving"

GALLIANI: “Our four attacking are confirmed for the next season”
28/02/2006
LUGANO - Still rossoneri topics between those face to you from Adrian Galliani: “The market? Poulsen has not signed for the Milan, however this is not the moment to speak about these things. In any case, on topics of the sort, it is right to hold account of the opinion of the tifosi and the dressing room, but the task of a leader is to construct the best possible square, this does not mean that we will take Poulsen and Materazzi, is not an opening this, but it is only a general speech on the duties and the prerogatives of a leader. That the Milan has need of a incontrista is true, inasmuch as when Gattuso cannot play not is a player with its same carateristiche inasmuch as ill-fatedly in this Ambrosini season cause is sovente outside. The philosophy of the Milan is always the same one, to have two good players for every role, enough but to speak about Poulsen because or it does not arrive, or if it arrives it ends in order to increase to the price (scherzoso smile of Galliani, n.d.r.). Ronaldo? And” true that the other evening I have made it compliments, but our four attacking absolutely are confirmed for the next year, of its arrival to the Milan would not be astonished alone Massimo Moratti but anch'io, just for the fact that we have already four large ones attacking, Loving, Gilardino, Inzaghi and Shevchenko, in alphabetical order. It has to you? Sure that will return, he is a player of the Milan. She compliments however to Kalac, large the square has need of competition and players like he. The defense? Obvious E' that if indeed two or three of ours, comprised evidently Stam, had to go via or stopping, is obvious that we will try to acquire two defenders in order to replace them, because is natural that they serve eight defenders. The problem is to find defending to the height of that they stop and this is a task a lot arduo'.

At last some striking on Cris and Oddo: “The Lione does not sell its players and if ago, ago to highest prices, creed they will not arrive neither Cris, neither Diarra. Oddo instead is absolutely incedibile, to we appeals to, but Lotito has said that it is not in sale and we never do not make dispetti the other squares”.

Oddo runs towards Rossoneri Tuesday 6 June, 2006

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Massimo Oddo admits he’s eager for a move to Milan, where he’d hook up with Under-21 sensation Pasquale Foggia.

“Milan have always been the team I have supported and having grown up in their youth system could count in my favour when considering the future,” commented the Lazio full-back.

He has made no secret of his intention to join the Rossoneri and Vice-President Adriano Galliani this week confirmed an offer had been made, but the Capital club is trying desperately to hang on to him.

Oddo’s price-tag could rise if he impresses for Italy in Germany 2006, where he is set to replace the injured Gianluca Zambrotta in Monday’s opener against Ghana.

“I didn’t come here to be part of the furniture, but I also hope to find room in the team on my own merits rather than due to the injuries of my teammates. We have worked with great intensity in training this week and our legs are a little heavy, but this is all part of the preparation process.”

If Milan are trying to sign Oddo, then they can already count on the services of Under-21 international Foggia, who moved from Ascoli to sign a four-year contract.

“I don’t want to seem arrogant, but I do hope to impress Carlo Ancelotti in the summer training camp, prove what I can do and work my way into the team,” said the wide man.

“It was my destiny to reach San Siro. We were only a few weeks into the season and I read Zvonimir Boban’s opinion piece in the ‘Gazzetta dello Sport’ saying Raffaele Palladino and I were the future of Italian football. I was surprised, but those words charged me up even more.”

Rossoneri transfer guru Ariedo Braida added today: “We really believe in Foggia and are convinced this was a bargain.”

Cagliari defender Michele Canini was with Foggia in the European Under-21 Championships, where he suffered a serious knee injury. He underwent surgery today on a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament and will be out for six months.
