This isn't to say he did a bad job in the center but he's not as good as Nesta, he was only put in the center to give Kaladze first team football and because we had no one else (half decent) and then as soon as Stam came along he was ushered back to his birth role on the left where he belongs
I think it was also to save his ageing legs too, but as he showed last season, he's fine lol...... ask Christiano Ronaldo
yeah well u have ur opinio i have mine, in the few years ive seen maldni in the center i thoght hes the worlds best and that includes his time besides nesta ... I THINK nesta doesnt have the touch maldini has on the ball, not even the class ... maldini has everything nesta has and more... even in is youth he could play in the center, he shut down romario in USA 94 in the final and he did the same thing before that in the CL final in athens

He also missed a header in the world cup 2002 against a 5ft Korean when he come in to cover the center, which then lead to the goal that knocked Italy out, i love the guy he's one of my faveorites and i'd defend him till the sun burnt out but for all his class quality and profesionalism he's not that good in the air which is a bit more vital when you play center.

yeah well nesta didnt look so smooth vs depor in the riazor too ... everyone has bad moments and so what... he didnt get the ball, deal with it, u cant blame him for that, its part of life, u find me one player who didnt have a blunder at a critical moment and maybe ill admit maldini isnt as great as i think he is but i find no point in discusing this since u seem to be one of the guys who think being older is bad and visa versa...

oh its also wrong to say he isnt great in the air because with age its normal for people to be less able to do some things, ur only taking the newly older maldini into consideration, but in his youth he could jump better than most players out there

when did i say been older is bad?
Maldini is a left back its as simple as that, hence the number 3 shirt and hence the fact its the position he's played in all his life, the only reason he plays well in the center is because he's so profesional and experianced and can read a game like no other, but naturaly its not his role, this isn't my oppinion its just fact i'm not saying what i think i'm just saying how it is.
Didn't nesta win best center back 3 years in a row?

Cristian Chivu to Milan?

www.acmilan.ru wrote an article, saying that AC Milan wants to buy Chivu. They tried already but were unsuccessful. The price of this player is 20 million. This time Galliani decided to make a deal to Roma another way: he wants to suggest 10 million + Abiatti and Foggia for Chivu...
Isnt it not very smart to sell Abiatti, Milan doesnt have good second goalkeeper?! Strange deals, and Chivu is very expensive...Do you guys think its a good deal?

I am still suspicious about that website...

Milan wouldn't write about rumors, or negotiations while they take place... only after they have been finalized...

agree. this is not the style of the offical site. plus, where is the link for acmilan.ru FROM the www.acmilan.com site.
As for this Chivu rumour, it's on a couple of other rumour-mill sites, as well, but guess what - you won't find it on the official one.

I'm suspicious of this site as well. Alll the versions of the official AC Milan site in different languages have the same news. But there was nothing on Chivu on the English or Italian websites. And on the Russian website there was links on the bottom to English and Italian versions but if you tried clicking them it says Page Can No Be Displayed or swomthing like that. It is just to made to look like the official site but is in reality probably a fake.

It says the source is http://sports.virgilio.it/it/index.html

From the little I've seen of Chivu I don't see how he could improve Milan. What does he bring that Milan do not already have?

channel4.com has a article about this and they are saying that Milan is offering Abbiati and Foggia for Chivu, if Milan does not have 10 million to pay for Chivu that is a shame a big one for a club like Milan. I think Foggia is going to be a very very good player.

Even if it is a fake, I think they are allowed to tell news to milan fans, thats what they do. Nothing criminal in it. I ve always followed that website and most of the news were truethful...It is still a website for Milan supporters in Russia. Most of the time this website gives a lot more information that acmilan.com and also gives free videos of the best moments from the games. I like this site.
