Scudetto Contract Renegotiations

With the Scudetto win and the optimism that has followed there have been perhaps more than the usual number of transfer rumours.

Long linked players like Divock Origi and Renato Sanches have yet to arrive, for valid or not so clear reasons. Others like Sven Botman may suddenly become out of reach due to English Premier League riches. The names linked will not stop until the window closes. The ownership change perhaps adds a hint of complication to negotiations but that could easily be blown out of proportion.

One other player issue on the agenda is that some of the winning team will be rewarded with improved contracts. While existing contracts have upwards of four years running that may not stop increased salaries for Sandro, Kalulu, Tomori, Bennacer and of course Leao.

Tonali may be offered double his €1.75 million contract, Tomori and Bennacer double their €1.5 million and Kalulu triple his €0.6 million. Leao will of course get to at least triple his €1.5 million as he is indeed rumoured to be asking for quadruple or more.

Ibra’s changing status, Kessie’s departure and the likely Romagnoli departure will provide some savings. More wages will be added when the new transfers arrive, eventually.
