Ibra has surgery
Ibra goes under the knife to operate on his left knee. He will be out until the new year and looks to sign a small contract to continue playing.
RedBird takeover starts
Gerry Cardinale & Redbird start the summer long process of buying a majority share of Milan from Elliott.
Initial words seem to point at bigger investment on the pitch.
No movement
Amid rumours aplenty there is also concern about Maldini and Massara’s contracts. The two directors may not be happy with the direction of the team.
Maldini & Massara extend
A last second two years extension for the team directors clears the air, so it is hoped.
Florenzi permanent Milan player
Florenzi’s initial loan from Roma is made permanent with a three year contract. Reportedly for around half the €4.5 million agreed to in 2021.
Antonio Mirante extends
Mirante extends his stay for one more year. Initially signed as a emergency free agent goalkeeper when Maignan had wrist surgery.
Preseason starts
Preseason starts for those not in international duty.
The 2022-2023 home kit is revealed.
Divock Origi arrives
Origi arrives on a free transfer from Liverpool on a 4 year contract. The forward misses some days due to an injury. Reported salary is €3.5 million a year
Abate primavera coach
The former full back is named the new youth/primavera coach.
Messias permanent Milan player
To some surprise Junior Messias extends his stay for another 2 years. Reportedly for around half the €4.5 million agreed with Crotone in 2021.
Lorenzo Colombo leaves on loan
Colombo leaves on loan to Lecce. The team have a buy option after the season ends and in turn Milan has a buy back option for the young forward who will be hoping for more Serie A experience.
Leo Duarte leaves
Duarte’s 1.5 year long loan to Istanbul Basaksehir is made permanent by the Turkish team who, much like Milan from others, is sold for less than initially agreed.
