Rebic, Leao, Maldini and maybe Roback  Huh

Hopefully we have someone up our sleeves.

When you look at Theo, Tonali, Tomori, Leao, Bennacer, Rebic then you will realise what Maldini is about. Never over paid for a player unlike Leonardo. Maldini only get a player if he can get him for a lower price than what he is worth, he is a shrewd businessman.  Icon_lol2
Are we linked with Federico Gatti? He is the Serie B's best defender, getting closer to Rubentus. Cheap, young and Italian
According to Sky Italia, Pellegri will return to the French side early instead and then join Torino on loan for what has been rumoured to be 18 months. The player himself has pushed for the move.

Milan offered to sign the youngster for a fee of €3.5m plus bonuses, which is a lot less than what was first agreed on in the summer. Therefore, Monaco turned it down and that’s why he will return to the club.

The reporter added that the Rossoneri most likely will sign a ‘strong striker’ eventually, most likely next summer.

Embarrassing episode. Trying to sign a crocked useless player for peanuts who instead goes on a long loan and will probably go on a free at the end of that. Now there's no back up striker. Ridiculous.

I am not saying he isn't shrewd, but there is a balance here too. Sometimes, you do have to pay market price for quality if you want to assemble a strong team to be competitive. Yes, Maldini made good signings, but it is also true this team has some major holes that needs to be filled. Some of the holes are created because we are so focused on getting the right price than getting the right player. We got a good deal with Saelasmakers by all accounts, but we have no threat at the RW position; Brahim Diaz was a good deal, but he has played only a handful of good games this season and we have absolutely nothing behind him. At the end of the day, the best team wins the championships, not the ones who got the most shrewd deals.

We all know this team has holes, Maldini knows too, but we can't fill all those holes with good players at market price if we don't have the money available. That's why we have to look for bargain deals and sometines even make gambles that sometimes will fail. I'm pretty sure Maldini hasn't got a ton of money available and choose not to use them on the players he/we wants.

It is not great for us but Elliott and management obviously have a plan they won't detour from.

Even Pellegri is getting let go for a reason,  they'll have someone up their sleeve.
Milan have picked the potential replacement of Pellegri: Serbian forward Marko Lazetic of Crvena zvezda. Milan offered €5M to sign him in January.

18yo, 1.92m tall.
Milan are edging closer to their first signing of the January transfer window, and it’s not a centre-back. Instead, the Rossoneri have decided on the replacement for Pietro Pellegri.

According to Calciomercato.com, they are ready to close a deal for 18-year-old Red Star man Marko Lazetic.

The deal should cost €4-5m and it’s worth mentioning that Torino had their eyes set on the youngster, prior to securing Pellegri. The signing of the latter has thus allowed Milan to move freely for Lazetic.
