Is anyone playing Football Manager 12 with Milan?

I know you have lives, just asking...
I'm playing. Currently in my third season with Milan.
I'm starting my fourth. What formation do you use?
I played 2 Seasons, twice. I never play more than 2 seasons because I get bored + Thiago Silva always wants to leave, and I refuse to play without him Big Grin

I won the Treble on Semi-Professional, but on professional I have a LOT of trouble. It's pretty impossible because the opponents teams are ALWAYS faster than you. For instance, a Defender (even a bad one) is faster than Pato. It makes no sense.

we're talking about football manager mate, not FIFA Big Grin

Played about 6-7 seasons with Milan, won almost everything, broke all records... had a pretty much decent youthful team with hot prospects... but decided to start another career, saved it on my Milan progress and lost interest in life :/
might give it another shot later though
Right now I'm playing a 4-3-1-2, pretty much the formation and tactic Allegri uses, fluid and control strategy. Now in the beginning of the third season my starting XI is:

GK: Sergio Romero
DR: Abate
DCr: Astori (Stopper)
DCl: Thiago Silva (Ball Playing Defender/Cover)
DL: Taiwo (he's been quality for me)
MCr: Aquilani (Central Midfielder/Attack)
MC: Etienne Capoue (Deep Lying Playmaker/Defend)
MCl: Nocerino (Box To Box/Support)
AMC: Eriksen (Trequartista)
STcr: Pato (Poacher)
STcl: Leandro Damiao (Complete Forward/Attack)

So far have won only 1 League title and 2 Supercups in a row. Was very close in winning Europa League in the first season, gutted I went out in the semis. Last season got eliminated by Barca (very overrated in this FM edition I might add) in the quarters. The league is pretty much mine, but really want to win the ChL and break Real Madrid's record. Big Grin
I have finished a season with domestic double. Barca eliminated me by penalties, but that were 2 fair battles and Flamini was exceptionally good at tackling Messi Big Grin

I play 41212 with high defend line in order to keep a small distant between defend and midfield.

GK: Abbiati
DR: Abate, wingback automatic
DL: Taiwo, wingback automatic
CB: Nesta, Stopper
CB: Silva, Cover
CDM: Bommel | Gattuso | Ambro, defensive midfielder, support
CM: Boateng, Box to Box, support
CM: Flamini, Ball Winning Midfielder, support
AM: Seedorf, Attacking midfielder, attack
SC: Ibra, Target Man or Complete Forward, attack
SC: Pato, Poacher

Pato's injury proneness is 17 but he still played a lot of matches. I didn't face any injury crisis and the elders were very useful thanks to small pitch and compact formation.

In this formation, the wingbacks must control all the flank without the help of wingers, so they must be very good. Abate & Taiwo are OK, but I still sign Sime Vrsaljko and Romario. Marco Verrati is also a very good option for the midfield.

Woops, what's Football Manager?

Basically the name says it all... but in short, you take control of almost everything that involves your team... Player contracts, staff, field dimension, etc...

you can't "play" a match, its a simulation, but one wrong bench-instruction and you can lose a match... pick the right players, and you might end up lifting the CL five times in a row Smile

formation, you can control everything aswell, defend deep, overload opponents... short passing, kick it for Ibra... whatever crosses your mind Big Grin

in 3 words: fun, addictive, great Big Grin

as for the formation I use 4-3-1-2, with attacking mentality... LCM(Verratti) is deep lying playmaker, RCM(Eriksen) advanced playmaker, and CM(De Rossi) is ball winner...

ACM(G. Rossi) is Inside forward

I played in my last 2 seasons with this formation, with Pato and Damiao as Advanced forwards...
as for the defense, its De Silvestre, Astori, Thiago Silva, Alessandro Crescenzi( both FB turn out to be great footballers, young and provide an ok number of assists)
By far the best game in this genre.

Currently I'm having a great season so far, with 11 games played in the league with full points, 33, sitting comfortably in the first place, though Napoli is only 2 points away. In the Champions League sitting first ahead of Real Madrid (which I beat 4-1 at home, and could have been a lot more, but Damiao didn't want to score in that game Big Grin), Leverkusen (who beat me at their home, the only loss so far) and PAOK.

Both attack and defense are on fire, Pato has scored 15 in 16 games, with an average rating of 7.88. Damiao 6 in 16 (has been more of an assist-man), and have only conceded 2 goals in the League. Hopefully this form will continue for some time.
