No, he can't.

However, with this spirit (after beating Parma), we can defeat Tott.

Abbi, Nesta, Siva & 2 DMs to keep a clean sheet, Ibra, Pato & Binho to score a lot. Welcome to the hell, Tott Big Grin
Allegri said we only have four available midfielders for Tottenham (Rino, Merkel, Flamini and Seedorf), and that Silva can be used in the middle in that game. Latest reports from today also say that Abate is ready for the Spurs game, however teams that play fast on the wings have always been the ones that hurt us in the past. I don't know if Oddo's experience and intelligence should be favored over Abate's speed.

Nesta returns and we win 4-0, I swear this guy brings so much more than just a good performance when he plays. He lift's everyone up and gives them confidence.

I expect:

Abbiati; Nini, Nesta, Yepes, Oddo; Rino, Silva, Flamini; Seedorf; Robinho, Ibra

I worry about Nesta/Yepes in the middle as they are both too slow, and despite Silva's solid performances in midfield, I am not convinced he would be able to do it vs an opponent like Tottenham. Pato's pace can be very important, hopefully for this game he can bring his brain with him to the game and use it if he gets the chance. I would naturally start Silva at the back because he is fast and good in the air, but since we have no midfielders on the bench I would bring Silva up. I think it's vital that Seedorf starts as our attacking midfielder, we play much better in defense and midfield with him in that position. Towards the end of the game, Robinho can take Seedorf's position and Pato can come on for Seedorf and play besides Ibra.

The battles for the lineup for this game will be: Oddo/Abate, Seedorf/Pato(pushing R70 to AM), Yepes/Merkel (if Yepes plays, that means Silva takes Merkel's in the middle).

I really hope we keep a clean sheet, I am very nervous and excited.

The team is clicking so fine I'd say let's start with basically the same line-up with Flamini and Robinho replacing Van Bommel and Cassano. I was really impressed with Merkel. He proves that his awful 45 mins against Lazio was just a blip. That shows some strong mentality especially for a kid like him and I believe he's ready for a crucial game like this.

Spurs are likely to play Defoe up front so I'd keep T. Silva at CB as we need his speed. Also I'd rather see Oddo than Abate on RB. He really earns himself a starting spot based on what he's been doing lately.

That Lazio game was so strange. I can't believe that any team would settle for that kind of extreme anti-football. I don't remember anyone playing particularly well in that game, let alone a kid.

I personally don't know if Merkel is ready for a big CL game, but I am also a firm believer of if you don't play you will never get better. So if we want him to be better, just throw him out there.

On Spurs game, I like Oddo more now, but Abate has been impressive this season and if he is back and available I would still play him before Oddo. We need LB with speed for that game.

I wish I could watch this game. I can only make it to the last 30 mintes on Tuesday.Confused

Forza Milan! Heart
IMO, today line-up with Flamini for Bommel and Robinho for Cassano is all right.

Merkel needs more playtime and he is quite solid, he deserves to start.
I think that we should play:

abbiati-oddo-nesta-silva-antonini-flamini-gattuso-merkel-seedorf-robinho-ibra

playing 442 with seedorf in the AM gives us more balance and is ideal for CL.

as someone said before, merkel can only improve playing big games
I don't think Merkel is capable of being our CM.. he can play in any other midfield position but the one in the middle. That position needs an awful lot of experience, strength and patience.

The countdown is over. The biggest game of the season has arrived.

I have alot of exams this week but all I think about is this game.

ALLEEEEE Alleeeee Allleee Milan Alleeeeeeee
Forza Lottaaaa.....vinceraaaiii... non ti lasceremo mai......
No Bale for Spurs but it looks like VDV and Modric might be back and Kranjcar has been in good form recently, the game wont be as easy as we think.
now it looks like bale and VdV will be fit..redknap even said there is a chance modric will play...was it all a fake?
Harry Redknapp is trying some mind games. We should prepare for everything, Bale included. I don't think we can't handle him. Benitez's Inter were a joke.
