Pato imo is on the right route to becoming one of the best players in the world, the problem is he makes the wrong decisions sometimes.. prime examples are when he jets by defenders and beats the offside trap but is either on the left or right of the box, once the defenders come back instead of cutting in or taking on the defender in the appropriate way he makes the wrong move or tries to pass/cross.. a striker like him with his deadly finishing and he definitely has the skill to take on any defender should be able to handle those situations with no problem.. his downfall is bad decision making like i said nothing is to be improved as far as his speed/skill/ability..

anyways, it was nice to see us win 3-0 today one big step closer to the title, what made me even happier is seeing inter lose 2-0 to parma. i feel as if they shouldnt make the CL next year because i can't recall ONE good win they had. they were all wins that had them conceding goals or pushing right to the last with all they have against much smaller clubs. the win against bayern should not have got to their heads because bayern was in cruise control but messed up sososososo many chances so they deserved being eliminated imo.

I know this isnt an inter forum but after the loss today i cant get it off my mind to talk shit about them because they dont play good football in all honesty.. Good thing Sneijder didnt win the fifa world player of the year or golden ball because imo hes a great player dont get me wrong but he does not deserve that. When his team is performing bad he cant step up to give them that boost or even win matches on his own. Ronaldo, Messi, former kaka and even ibrahimovic now are all capable of that.. And sneijder is the route to their attacks so etoo and pazzini canot be blamed either.. Anyways in conclusion this week end couldnt have gone better were 8 points up on inter and looking forward to a great udinese-napoli game .. Udinese is with out di natale or sanchez so i expect udine to pull out a draw at most because of their bad run even without star players they should really play their hearts out.
A solid performance and comfortable win against an opponent who wanted to just sit back and try and avoid conceding. That said, the injury concerns are big with Abbiati being a key figure in the team and Pato was absoloutely needed during this period that Ibra was out (or even for the rest of the season given Ibra's questionable form). There are hopes both will be back for Brescia, though I can't hide my concern about Pato's injury, as it looked like he pulled his hamstring, which means months out.

Anyway, back to the match. We started with a purpose to try and score early but with Samp's deep line it meant we struggled for space, resulting in no clear cut chances. Our approach was correct, as Samp essentially had a back 5 with 3 midfielders in front. This meant we needed to try and exploit, or rather stretch the play on either side of the midfield, which Abate and Seedorf were instrumental to. While we weren't creating good chances, the goal seemed inevitable given we really had Samp on the ropes forcing them to make mistakes and concede corners and freekicks, which is obviously how Seedorf scored. Even had we not scored from the freekick, I'm confident we would've worn them down to eventually score, although the match would've been much harder.

I think after the first goal we essentially played out the rest of the first half without much intensity. I honestly believe the two injuries conditioned this, as there were clear concerns particularly when Pato went off, meaning players probably had these thoughts in their minds.

The second half came well, as we dominated going forward and we did well to open spaces against Samp. The goals eventually followed and in became a routine victory. What was positive was Pirlo's return.

Players...

Abbiati - Had nothing to do before getting injured.
Abate - Excellent game as he had no pressure defensively and was good going forward to stretch Samp's midfield.
Thiago - Solid in the tackle, had little to do overall.
Yepes - Did well in the air as always and has come in well in Nesta's absence.
Zambrotta - He doesn't offer much going forward these days, but was solid at the back.
Gattuso - Strong performance throughout, although was careless on the ball at times in the first half.
Van Bommel - Played his usual game with ease and wasn't ever under pressure.
Seedorf - Great game again. Before the goal I thought he was a little sloppy on the ball as his passing was off, but after the goal he was brilliant.
Boateng - An interesting game as he essentially played on the right to stretch the Samp backline and act as a third attacker for much of the match. Strong on the ball and quick too, he's tough to handle.
Robinho - Good movement throughout and scored a good goal (as in it was a good attacking move).
Pato - I feel sorry for his injury and only pray it's not serious. I was pleased with his movement again as he is definitely thinking a lot more about where to attack opponents now. While on the pitch it was good to see him moving between the lines and channels of the Samp defensive set up, making it extremely difficult for them to track him and open spaces.
Amelia - As with Abbiati had nothing to do.
Cassano - Played well after coming on and was key to us not missing Pato.
Pirlo - Good return and he looks good on the ball, although the match was finished. He can be very useful for the remainder of the season.

I think Allegri got the match right yesterday, but has some thinking to do if Pato's out for longer than hoped.
The gods are messing with us...they don`t want us to win a scudetto without Pippo putting his mark on it.

This made my day! Big Grin

Can't wait for Pippo to return and rape defense after defense. Sagrin
Anyone know the attendance for this game? Seemed pretty full from what little i saw.
According to Goal.com it was 51000.
Pato is at least out for 10 games...

i have fear vs Brescia, witout Pato, without ibrahimovic...Thank god, they will play for a win vs us, so they will give much space...Cassano-Robinho partnership could work againist them. maybe Allegri had better to keep Verdi on the bench as well...
