just to mention something...when i tried to access the old link yesterday i got the message it was closed and the link to come here but for some reason i couldn't. it told me that i don't have a BB something which i did not understand and tried to download but did not know how to use it so i was a bit worried...
but i tried again today and it worked.
maybe this is happening to other members and u need to fix something

3) After I registered, I was informed by email that I would need the activation code to activate. I didn't use it anywhere but I am posting now.

Some people were able to come here faster because their internet provider updated the DNS faster.
The link in the old MM to here should work unless the same issue about DNS and your internet provider was delaying it. I don't know what you were seeing but never download anything from anywhere without knowing what it is. I will take a look now to see what could be wrong but as of few hours ago it seemed ok from my computer.

Do you mean you started posting without going to the activation address in the email first? A big problem if that's the case, because it shows something's not working properly.

Yes, that's the case, at least to me. The email message seems clear that I will need the code but I never needed it, and here I am, already on a spamming spree. I thought I got that special treatment as I was a respected member of MM.
Now please don't ban me.

yeah it's all working fine now so i guess it was something from my end as you said.
Regarding the e-mail and code as Xudong mentioned, that was the case also for me. I tried to post 1st but i was told to activate to i checked my e-mail and opened the link but did not know where to put the activation code. So i tried again to post and it worked. Not sure if just by clicking the link that it was activated but i never typed the activation code.

Yep, it activates by simply going to the link provided... so yeah it's all good for you
