Personally, If it was me, and I tell my agent that i want to stay at Milan, while he instead goes and tells them that I will not sign the extention, I will fire him within the hour.

Sure, maybe Raiola was doing his thing in getting him bigger wages, but that part was all set and done. I don't think he was digging for higher wages any longer. Those were on the table for a while at that point and Milan was just waiting for an answer.

I think the answer to the truth will be in what happens with Raiola. If he stays as Donna's agent, than surely he didn't do anything wrong and was just following Gigio's plans. If not, surely, he will get fired, no?...because it would mean that he was not doing what the client asked him to do.

Spot on! For me I'd have fired him immediately after finding out...

Not necessarily, he could have been working without Gigio's approval but Gigio might be too stupid or immature to do anything about it. After all, a public comment about his intentions before he went to play with the NT could have clarified things.

Good point!

At this point I just want everything to be done so that we can calmly go for our other targets. Still a lot of work to be done this summer....

Anyone noticing our transfer movement looks like hit a snag after Dollarumma saga came out? No new signings; no Conti, no Biglia, no star signings... I'm getting anxious.

I think many agree with you.

RE: Summer transfer window 2017 - Ryo - 06-23-2017

Conti will arrive after Germany knock out Italy in the U-21s. You can blame that transfer on greedy Atalanta for upping their price to €30M. Otherwise we would've signed him before the tournament started like management had expected. The negotiations with Conti himself have already been completed long before that.

Biglia's issue was firstly because we had a deal in place for both him and Keita, but the other didn't want to come to us. So Lazio are trying to sell off both pieces separately, but whilst both together may have been a good deal at €50M, Milan don't value Biglia as €20. There are alternatives on the market, and we are working within our budget. It makes sense that negotiations would slow down if he's not one of the more important pieces in our revamp. We simply won't overpay for players like Galliani used to.

Likewise Dollarumma's drama lost us a lot of time that could've been spent on negotiating for other players because we just suddenly had to talk to agents and other clubs to find a replacement, and deal with the fat snake at the same time, and now we are dealing with his possible u-turn. All that shit takes time. The fact that we aren't at the end of June yet, already shows just how competent our management have been at getting things back on track. Once Dolla makes his ultimate decision (probably once he gets back from the tourney as well) then it'll be full steam ahead with our other targets.

By the way, can someone make a projection of how much money we've actually spent in this mercato so far (including amounts to be spent for Conti and a Biglia-esque player), and how much we might get back from sales of fringe players? I want to see how much management still have to work with to see which players we can still potentially bring in. If we have over 70-80 left, I would say a star play maker and a striker/winger is a big possibility. And that in itself wouldn't be a bad mercato if that were the case.

paredes to dortmund, can we hijack that deal?

RE: Summer transfer window 2017 - ACMILAN1983 - 06-23-2017

I think the Donnarumma situation has had some impact on the mercato, but not necessarily as much as people might believe. Part of the problem is the Conti and Biglia deals have proven to be extremely difficult, but it seems Conti will be done next week, while with Biglia we either need patience or we start looking elsewhere.

It also appears we've essentially secured/blocked movements for Perin (should Donnarumma not renew) and Borini. Obviously, Donnarumma's renewal has been a problem for management as they've had to spend time getting goalkeeping targets, which otherwise might have been used towards other targets. That said, I think we're maybe talking a couple of days of delay.

It's also worth noting that Mirabelli did say there would be a slow down in the market movements recently, so I don't think this is wholly surprising.

RE: Summer transfer window 2017 - somedevil - 06-23-2017

Atalanta took a risk on Conti's performance in the Euros. If he did well, they could've asked for a bigger price and/or they could've started a bidding war. This is why they are delaying.

And this Donnarumma facade surely wasted time. any business owner will know what an unforeseen situation can do to your current projects. This is all that happened and once it blew up top be such a big deal, they had to devote time here. I say just sell this fucking guy and be done with it.

In other news, since there doesn't seem that much on the market....

Live stream of our U-16 team in the Final for the season.

I think Daniel Maldini is playing as our Number 10
