RE: Summer transfer window 2017 - PassiamoAlleCoseFormali - 08-17-2017

Every day my morale and opinion change.
For example, today I think we're going to buy in the end Kalinic + Keita seen the statements of his agent .
I read news of la stampa on Belotti maybe will we do a last attempt?
I read the statements of DS Barcelona that says Coutinho and Dembele are near to sing , so I think that Aubameyang will not coming.

At this point, I'm not understanding anything anymore.

(08-16-2017, 07:32 PM)Hitman Wrote: how can you say that Kalinic is not that good just because Bacca scored the same number of goals as he did last year? This is wrong and inaccurate for many reasons. One: Kalinic hasn't been tested in Montella's system, he could have scored 50 goals or he could have scored 5 - we don't know. Two: you're using a single statistic (goals scored) to measure Kalinic vs. Bacca. That just doesn't work. Three: If Bacca was at Fiorentina, he could've have scored 50 goals or 5 goals. Key point here is that we don't know, but what we do know is what characteristics each striker has and how valuable are those characteristics are to the squad we are building. Kalinic fits the bill a lot more than Bacca does, even if he doesn't get the same number of goals Bacca did at Milan last year or the year before. Bacca is an extremely limited player that will be a liability to any team that signs him unless they have a really good team that'll be serving Bacca with golden opportunities every game. I mean we can do that too but why go for a limited striker when we can get a striker that can do the same but so much more? Again, I understand your concerns about the price paid, I would've been extremely concerned if Kalinic was signed in our previous era because of how poor we were, but 25m for us would still be less than 10% of our summer spendings this year. That's not ideal, but it's not as awful as you claim. It's alright.

The price paid for Kalinic considering his age is what people his age are going for nowadays. Biglia went for 17+3m and he was on his last year of his contract. Bonucci came for 42m and he's 30. Kalinic was Fiorentina's most valuable player and got them the most points and we got him for 25m. In January he was close to going to China for 50m, Cannavaro wanted him at all costs and said he's the perfect and ideal player for his kind of football.

And to the last part sentence quoted, the reason we have a sporting director is because he represents Milan's sporting needs. Every player we've agreed to sign was a player that was wanted by BOTH Montella and Mirabelli. This was something that wasn't there before the Dragon Era. The sporting director brings in a squad that he can work with regardless of who's the coach, because ultimately it's him who picks the coach. I firmly believe that there's no chance Mirabelli would've accepted Kalinic unless he was aboard too.

let's agree to disagree hitman. btw i never said that kalinic is not a good player because he had identical stats to bacca last season. what i actually said was it doesn't make sense paying 25m+ for a 30yo who's not a prolific goal scorer and scored the same number of goals as a 30yo who apparently doesn't fit the system. let's not forget bacca was playing in an inferior squad too without bernardeschi, valero, illicic, chiesa and tello supplying him.

no matter how i look at it, if the rumours are true, it's not a good deal. especially when another serie a proven youngster (schick) is available for the same price and has resale value. the problem is if montella or kalinic bomb then he won't have much resale value. that's why only everton and china are interested in him.

i also think you need to cut bacca some slack. it was his goals that won sevilla the europa league 3x in a row which is no mean feat. the same competition where sevilla knocked out montella's fiorentina. he may not have as good "characteristics" as kalinic but at the end of the day the only thing that matters for a striker is goals and assists. that's the bottom line just like the net profit for any corporation. and based on age/stats kalinic is not a significant upgrade to justify such a transfer fee/contract.

i will praise f+m when they get it right (which they have 99% of the time for both incomings and outgoings) but also criticize substandard deals like kalinic. time will tell who was right.

yes getting 15m+ for niang and at least 3m for paletta and 3.75m for sosa (that's the minimum management will accept to avoid a loss on the books) would be fantastic. gomez is on the market too but i'd only sell him outright (no loans/options) for the amount paid last year (8.5m).

Let's have fun guys, look at our neighbours : they have had a 50M negative balance in this mercato so far and yet, they didn't bring any quality player !
=> Dalbert for 20M (without bonus etc), Borja Valero for 5.5M, Skriniar for 25M and Vecino for 24M, Zaniolo for 1.80M and Odgaard for 1.5M
Now relax and enjoy our last days of mercato, Kalinic or no Kalinic in ! Big Grin

yes aside from valero who's great value for money, they've massively overpaid for everybody else. also 40m k-dogs gone awol so they're forced to offload him to valencia on loan with option at 28m. such an ungrateful player glad we didn't get him.

to elaborate, Keita's agent said there's only interest from Milan and that there's an agreement with Lotito

RE: Summer transfer window 2017 - PassiamoAlleCoseFormali - 08-17-2017

The last news is that Kalinic fined by Fiorentina because they have an agreement with Everton.

At this point I prefer to spend 100M for Belotti that 30M for Kalinic.

I guess Bacca is officially gone

Also, triple handshake fail!

RE: Summer transfer window 2017 - ACM2023 - 08-17-2017

Officially and permanently gone?

I remember reading something about an 'option' instead of 'obligation' to buy after the loan. If so, he will be back before we know it. Didn't Monaco loan el Shaarawy but didn't even complete the loan term? Maybe we are even paying part of Bacca's salary? O

Where is Jay? I want to challenge him to a negativity contest now. I think I may have a chance to win. Icon_lol2 Grinundwech

RE: Summer transfer window 2017 - Sampinjon - 08-17-2017

On any media I read about Bacca to Villareal there's option not obligation. I guess it's option than.

RE: Summer transfer window 2017 - Dublinista - 08-17-2017

Passiamo, Kalinic was fined for not turning up to training today. And I wonder are Fiorentina delaying the transfer to get back at him. They are no longer accepting Milan payment method, or so they say.
