RE: UEFA Champions League 2022-2023 - Acmir - 09-07-2022 Liverpool's defense was comical tonight, especially that Gomez guy RE: UEFA Champions League 2022-2023 - honsano - 09-08-2022 Just goes to show that to really break these high press/high defensive line schemes, you need players who can run onto those deep balls. Osimhen really did well to do that as did their KK guy today. I really wonder how we play against Salzburg when Origi or Rebic can start. RE: UEFA Champions League 2022-2023 - Aficio - 09-08-2022 Public fans are mocking Liverpool for letting Origi the God leave Milan fans... RE: UEFA Champions League 2022-2023 - nefremo - 09-08-2022 I think all of us understate how difficult it is in the CL. Yes, that includes Salzburg and Dinamo, even though they don't come from a "top 5" League. Fact is that we played a poor game...but the positive is that even with a poor game, we came home with a point. What this means is that if we beat them at home (we should as it's a different beast at the San Siro), than all we need is 6 points from Dinamo. That brings us to 10...and 10 points 99.9% of the time put you in the knockout round. As an example, everyone with 10 points or more in the last 2 campaigns advanced to the next round. There were 4 teams that even advanced with 8 or 9. So that's a very reasonable expectation here. To beat Salzburg and Dinamo in Milano and to also beat Dinamo in Zagreb. Dinamo showed it won't be easy playing them in Croatia, but at the same time, I think even after beating Chelsea, they still are the weakest team in this group. With that, I didn't even mention Chelsea. But I've always felt that the results vs Salzburg and Dinamo are where qualification to the next round will be secured. The Chelsea games are where top spot could be secured. With that, the Dinamo win in the 1st round threw the group in a bit of a loop.....but even with their problems, ai fully expect Chelsea to get back on track and qualify alongside Milan. To talk about the other groups, Inter as we all suspected, is going to have a horrid time in this group. It was always going to be a tough task vs Bayern, but losing the first game at home with still Bayern away and 2 Barca games to go makes everything incredibly tough for them. I guess EL is the goal. Napoli....what a game. I love when a PL side gets embarrassed. With all the money spent there and all the media always talking PL, PL, PL this, PL that....it's always good to see them eat a humble pie. Everywhere else, expected results, really. Maybe Shakhtar beating Leipzig 4-1 is a bit of a surprise, but again, such is the quality of the CL. RE: UEFA Champions League 2022-2023 - Sleeping Giant - 09-08-2022 Napoli are really a bogeyteam of LiVARpool, never really able to beat Napoli only time it come in 2019 with controversial refree decisions RE: UEFA Champions League 2022-2023 - Aficio - 09-08-2022 Group E of the 2022-23 UEFA Youth League have the same teams as Group E CL and the same result: Milan drew Salzburg 1-1, Dinamo killed Chelsea (this time 4-2) Coubis scored for us. A tall (1m89) RB/CB like him could be helpful. https://sempremilan.com/gds-pioli-keeping-an-eye-on-primavera-defender-who-continues-to-grow Now we have a (deep) backup for RB/CB. Not saying about rushing him or expecting something at the top level yet, but our investment in him (trained a lot with 1st team) begins to be paid off. RE: UEFA Champions League 2022-2023 - honsano - 09-09-2022 If we could buy Osimhen, that would be insane. Talk about a guy that could play with Leao and CDK. I’m not sure a RW would really matter either. For CL advancement it will really come down to getting 6pts from Dinamo. I imagine we will get at least a point from Chelsea and at least a pint from Salzburg at home. If we get six pints in between, we are golden. This means Pioli has to sacrifice points in the league by resting players like Theo and Leao. We finally have depth but no Rebic is killing us. I hope Pioli considers Origi out wide or even let Saele try again on the left. RE: UEFA Champions League 2022-2023 - Sampinjon - 11-07-2022 We got Tottenham. Leipzig - Manchester City Liverpool - Real Madrid PSG - Bayern Milan - Tottenham Club Brugge - Benfica Inter - Porto Dortmund - Chelsea Frankfurt - Napoli Few interesting pairs. Those Napoli, Inter and Benfica looks good for quarterfinals RE: UEFA Champions League 2022-2023 - winstonwolfe - 11-07-2022 Not great, not terrible for us. |
