Some interesting news on Milannews:

http://www.milannews.it/rassegna-stampa/...ema-162418

Essentially another failure to get into Europe could mean Galliani finally gets ousted by Barbara. If this really is the case, as pathetic as it sounds I'd want the side to fail for European places this season.

And the positive news keeps coming for the stadium too: http://www.espnfc.co.uk/italian-serie-a/...ite-tabled?

Hopefully we have an answer soon enough

^ I am sure there will be lots of objections (mostly by those without power like the fans) at the capacity quoted in this article

42,000 capacity is ok imo, although the stadium should be scalable should Serie A pick up again. Apparently Inter plan to reduce the San Siro to nothing more than 50,000 if Milan leave.

Tuttosport also report the Galliani Barbara rumour I posted yesterday:

Champions League or Europa League? I am 99% certain that we'll at least make Europa League. We're bad but not THAT bad. Champions League though is a bit far away IMO.

Siamo a posto cosi.

Call me traditionalist, but I still think it is too low. Even this year the attendence of the darby matches was very, very good.

I don't see how the team earns more money with smaller stadium, unless they are going to rise the ticket prices.

They will raise the prices. Supply and demand. You could raise the prices and justify it when your stadium is packed every week.
On the contrary, You would have to almost lower the prices when you have 10 - 15 thousand seats empty every week.

In the end, it doesn't cost you as much to build the lower seat stadium yet you make similar amount of money. What's more important is for this to be a multi-purpose venue that can make money almost every day of the week, and especially through concerts, exebitions, shows, tours, other sports, etc.

I personally would like something close to the 55,000....but anything is better then nothing at this point.

Also bigger stadiums are prone to bigger costs to build and maintain. If we aren't consistently hitting near the max then one or two games doesn't make a big stadium worth the cost. It also looks really silly on the TV

Quote:Thai investor Bee Taechaubol is interested in acquiring shares in Milan, according to reports.

The property tycoon has invested close to €1bn in residential, commercial and industrial project in Thailand and Australia through family brand Country Group.

According to Sky, Taechaubol could be ready to invest in the Rossoneri after hinting at the possibility in an interview with former Italy international Fabio Cannavaro.

“I’d like to buy Milan, but they’re asking €900m,” Taechaubol is reported as saying while announcing sponsorship of the Global Legend Series which will see Cannavaro coach a team including Luis Figo, Michael Owen and Alessandro Nesta.

“I can’t meet that valuation but…

“Let’s finish this series of matches and then I’ll focus. I’d like to invest in Italian football.

“I’d love to invest in Milan.”

I think the reasons given explain well why stadium capacity shouldn't be too high at the point, but the club should take a leaf from Roma's plan on the capacity and make it possible to expand. That way you can react to market trends if there are possibilities to expand.

On the Thai investor, it looks like his approach has been rejected:

Also, Tuttosport has written about Barbara and Galliani, saying the pleasant discussions yesterday as a facade. Apparently Galliani wants to stay at San Siro:
