Summer Mercato 2016
I have previously said that I'd gladly sell DES. Not to say that my opinion has now changed (I still think he hasn't shown anything to warrant a place and he keeps living on old glory - that breakout season + some decent performances here and there)......but that opinion was largely based on us raising money with players that we can afford to sacrifice (DES is one imo) in order to build the team and especially the midfield. IF the Chinese acquisition happens however and we don't really need the money, than I have no problem with him staying. He can be useful and he is still young. Not sure that he should be first choice until he proves that he deserves that (he hasn't so far), but even as a 2nd choice he can be valuable especially because he can play on both sides.

I think it's interesting to note that we're talking about some top clubs, Juve and Bayern in this instance, being interested in him. Similar with Niang, some really good clubs want him, it should serve as an indicator that we have some good young players that we need to try and get the best out of.

You mean by providing a stable and motivational environment so that they can grow out to be professionals instead of the chaos that surrounds them Tongue ?
Good to hear we rejected offer for DES.. I still believe he could still grow and offer more.
I really like DES, always have. Juve have apparently signed Dani Alves so I doubt they'll want DES as well.

I do feel like, with a stable defence, and a strong leader in there, DES can still become what we all expected to become. Just like I feel SES too can fulfil his potential. He just needs the right guidance and team around him. I'd keep him also, if we get bought out...

Buy someone like Benatia for CB. Witsel and Andre Gomes(would prefer Joao Mario but we'd have to pay around 60mill for him) for CM and maybe Lacazette for Striker plus maybe another winger... I would have said Berardi but I heard he'll be signing for Juve

Apparently we're looking at Caceras... Wouldnt be such a bad signing... He would, after all, just be a backup...
Because Caceres was released by Jube... Its free!
I'd take Caceres. As a stop gap measure. I spoke to a well informed and a long time Juveintino and he agreed that Caceres would be a good signing for Milan.

With his injury history in last 3 years I would also like him only as back up for first team. It's too risky to relay on him about anything bigger.
Avaiting for arrival of exorcist into our boardroom.
I read somewhere Roma offered Caceres 3.5M a year, whereas we offered 2M per year. I must say, 3.5M a year for Caceres sounds absolutely ridiculous, even if he is free. I think that's how much we are paying Bacca every year, and Bacca is a much better player at a premium position. Caceres' versatility can be a real asset for this team, but in all honesty, I would rather we throw some money at N'Koulou. Younger, more athletic, less injury risk and room for upside, N'Koulou can be good for us in the short and long term whereas Caceres would be nothing but a short term depth guy, even if he is a great depth player.
no pls for 3.5, even for 2
1.5 is a max for caceres
The problem is that if we are letting go of Alex, Zapata, Mexes, and Ely too probably....we will only have Romagnoli as a CB and maybe Paletta (that's if we bring him back/keep him).

But I agree, 3.5 is too much for him. He's also been out for a long time with an injury. To be honest, he is not better than Zapata, although he is more versitile. I really think we should just keep Zapata. We are basically going to get the same quality player in Caceres but overpay on wages. It's a sideways move that will cost us more money.
