He was not happy because he couldn't handle the high expectations and pressure that followed his bright start and especially after that Juve goal where everyone suddenly was thinking he was the next big thing over night.
He was never unhappy with Milan as a club. He was here for 10 years, he was devastated that he had to leave. I don't interpret anything in those links as criticizing Milan or, as mazen suggests, that he felt was bigger than the club. I think that is a huge misunderstanding if one reads it like that.
