But he really helps the team, he compensates the old men. Players with better skills don't want to play that hard.

However, I'm waiting for Aquilani. Gattuso is banned and Flamini is injured, so the chance that Boateng plays RCM is high, but for Barca:

The midfield+1 striker mentioned above is weak IMO. Only Aquilani as player for Milan to rely on their ball possession. Although I am not Seedorf's fan, Milan need Seedorf, and should play him in midfield as long as he wants to move his ass.

I don't think Robinho will play ahead of Boateng as CAM. Playing Robinho as CAM last season was a fail as Robinho could not perform there, it is not his position. What makes Boateng play beside Bommel could be Aquilani, not the strikers we have.

Considering the squad is currently around 30 players, selling those two players would only cover a lunch at McDonald's.

Well MVB is the best overall DM Milan have at the moment. While I don't like the idea of Boateng being a RCM with Slowdrof being a LCM and Aqua beiNg ACM. Aqua lacks the movement and work rate in the ACM formation of Max, rather I would have Aqua plays at the RCM and just let Boateng plays at ACM and take it from there.

So...Aquilani, Boateng, Cassano and MVB isnt a viable midfield? Cassano as ACM? (Just asking)

Y is Boateng's defensive abilities in question? He never stops running, and while he may be a bit too aggressive, the hope here is that the majority of the fouls he makes would be close to the half-line, or in opposition territory. (This maybe more of a threat than if he plays ACM, but this allows Seedorf/Cassano to rotate @ ACM)

This way, we can field some of our best attacking talent together.....Ibra, Pato/Robinho as the strikers...

I had a brief convo w/ a Liverpool supporter today, whose opinion was that letting Aquilani go to Milan was one of the most stupid moves Liverpool have made in recent history....if not ever.

I understand the way many here feel about Hamisik, et al not coming this mercato, and for me, while I am happy we got the Liverpool player on loan w/ the option to buy (THE PERFECT WAY to evaluate a player before spending what many here fail to realize, are increasingly scarce resources) most seem to think we got a useless player.

I refuse to write the player off (as I recall many here doing prior to his arrival) until at least January and even so, depending on how much match time he actually gets.

Let me hasten to add that I too am disappointed that no Pastore, no Hamisik, no Ilner etc etc came (never thought Fabregas was a real possibility), that said, with the fine that Berlu faced, I'm happy we signed anybody we had to find a few Euro for.

now, with Flamini injured, i do expect one more aquisition, though if we dont get him....well...let,s just say I wont be surprised.

I agree with you. General feeling I get from Liverpool fans is Aquilani shouldn't have been sold and I think the loan with 6m option/obligation is a bigger slap in the face for them.

We're getting an interesting player, who has been really impressive throughout Liverpool's preseason, so I'm curious to see what he's capable of.
