Personally I think we need other players, although Eriksen could be one for the future.

There have been a lot of rumors for Eriksen, I really hope we sign him, at this young age he can really make a difference. He can play as a LCM, has played in the center of the midfield since De Boer took over Ajax and has excelled.

As for Amauri, I don't really think we need him...

He might cost us 15 mln,our management won't do that unless his contract expire next summer.it's more likely we will go for constant for the similar role,and save money for a real big purchase.

I don't think Milan will ever have a big purchase anymore, unless you count a 25 mil player is a big purchase. People talked about Robinho and Ibra being big purchases, but they are a combine of 42 mil, which is less than Pastore and just 3 mil more than Cesc.

A big purchase shouldn't be calculated by the money spent, but by the player quality.
If we look at player quality only, then indeed both Ibra and Binho were world class purchases.

Let's leave the "Andy Carroll" and "Fernando Torres" type of big purchases to the sheik clubs.

p.s. I am sure if a player, say, of Nesta quality who wants Milan emerges, Berlu will shell out 30 - 40 mil for him.

If hamsik is available for 30-40 mln next summer,I think our management will very probably do it.

If Gotze is available for 25-30 mln next summer,we better do it.

If one of this 2 deals become real,and if we can get torres at the cost of robinho,we better do it.

In all fairness from the mid 90's, when transfer fees started rising rapidly, we never really followed suit of other clubs and spent huge sums (in comparison to what others pay) for players. I think our most expensive transfer ever was Rui Costa, who cost £28m (not sure what that was in Euros at the time).

Thankfully though, history has shown numerous times that it's not how much you spend that dictates how good you are, but it's how you spend.

I think Rui Costa is still the highest player paid for Milan.
Anyhow, sometime is not how much a club spent on ONE player but rather how well they spend on players as a whole. Even in the Carlo era, people tend to forget the purchase of Rui Costa, Pippo, Nesta, Kala(was actually pretty solid then), Oddo in winter, Gila, R99 for half a season and even Kaka(although he only cost 8 mil or something, but he was a true unknown player and 10 yrs ago media actually did not hype youngster as much as now) but always remember how Milan got Pirlo, Slowdorf, JDT, and Cafu for free that path the way for Milan winning 2 CLs in 5 yrs. While I actually forgot if it was Pirlo or Slowdorf who Milan got in exchange for Coco, Coco at that time was a regular for the National team and a great FB, while Slowdorf had been inconsistent and Pirlo was an unknown player with great potential but never really showed it at Serie A. Either way, we all say that was such a great deal getting Pirlo and Slowdorf for close to free.....but I think that only happens with Morratti and Inter back then. I think Morratti had learn that after these Milan and Juve trades.

At this point, i think it is still wishful thinking that Berlu will spend 35-45mil on someone like Cesc, or Hamsik, or Gotze. Players want money more than anything else esp young players, since they believe they have another 10 great yrs ahead of them. The other thing is that, if say Berlu is willing to pay 40mil for Hamsik, I am a team like City or Real or Chelsea would be willing to pay 60mil for him with twice as much salary being offer from Milan. Thus unless Hamsik is a diehard Milan fan, I doubt he would come to Milan if other teams is offering twice as much as Milan with the same chance of winning. (Lets not get into whether or not that team needs Hamsik for this hypothetical situation.) Then again, I would rather Berlu spend 40-45mil on three players instead of one and stop signing out of contract players who are really good subs for Milan but not players who can bring glory to Milan.

Be optimistic,Gabriel! you got believe milan's charm,why it's us who got ibra for 24 mln,not city or chelsea for 48 mln.money plays a big part,but not everything in football.

About you rather 40-45 mln for 3 players instead of one,I think 15 mln is not enough for big potentials these days,even el sharaawy demands 20 mln.pato is 22 mln 3 years ago,what's the pricetag for neymar,lucas, or gotze now? the chance to get a potential big-timer for 15 mln is no bigger than we get a new slowdorf for free. three 15 mln-ers might end up as a group like nocerino,aquinlani and monty,and we just needs to pay 8 mln for these 3.but with 40 mln for one player,we definitely get a sure MrX.
