CR7 compare with Nasri,you made a good example.  maybe that's the calibre difference between platini and laudrup.

Well who cares about the pricetag though? Is it really that important? I mean, a pricetag doesn't tell the whole story, it's also purely subjective and depends on many many circumstances. We got Nocerino for only 500K, but that doesn't mean he's a bad player or not Milan's level. On the contrary.
Modric is arguably one of the best midfielders in the world, and no matter his pricetag, he would be a Ballon D'or candidate, if he was in a better team than Spurs and actually win something important. And also the Ballon D'or is just plain a huge pile of bullcrap. Maldini never won one, yet he's one of the best players to ever set foot on the field, arguably the best left back ever.
Oh, and I'd rather have Nasri than CR7 in my team...

LB's never win Ballon D'Or's. That's the problem. Ballon D'or's don't mean much to me.

That's exactly the point. A quality player is quality regardless of being nominated for Ballon D'Or.

Pricetag is a important indicator.nocerino's pricetag should be at least 8 mln,that's why everybody think we made a great deal.
Maldini is a ballon d'or cadidate for a few times.that tells the recognition of his quality from professions community.Modric is a very good player,but he cost 25 mln.I'd rather spend 35 mln for gotze,he has got innate pace modric doesn't have.and choose free monty to play modric's role.
If we can get nasri or CR7 free,you will choose nasri,really?!!!!!! that's absolutely irresposible.

It depends on the price but Cristiano Ronaldo is the 2nd best attacker in World Football, so it's probably stupid to take anyone besides Messi over him in your squad.
