So Donna has a great 2020-2021 season but we finish 5th so we would have to sell him for 50 or less? if that's the way then the renewal is useless.

How is it useless? If he doesn't renew he'll leave for free next summer... Not sure anyone would pay 50 now when they can negotiate for free in six months.

Verteghon confirmed he would be leaving Spurs as a free agent, how about we get him man, a hell a lot of EPL experience and will save us a lot of money if go for Kumbulla or Milenekovic or Fofana and would help Gabbia to mature him as a good defender. He(Verteghon) is slightly slow but ok.

I wonder if Watford have to sell Ismaila Sarr after they were relegated? He's got some potential and can play mainly on the RW, but also LW and forward. They bought him for €30 though, so they'd probably want the same back...

Good free agent. I think a couple of players like that could be good and also free up transfer funds for other younger reinforcements. Get Vertonghen and Cavani. Then get someone like Emerson, Tonali, Roca, Sarr. Many possibilities if we're creative.

A Big YES for him, Targeting EPL relegated teams would be a good option to get some great players on cheap. getting someone like Abdoulaye Doucouré will provide quality to our mid, Doucoure would add versatility and power to our midfield. Capable of playing defensively or box to box.

He is sellable for good money, not much less than 50, this summer. Someone like PSG will pay and Chelsea likely need a goalie now too.

There are runors that some provisions will be included in the clause...such as "if we don't make the CL". Also, I'm sure the clause will come effective only starting next sunner.
Another thing about clauses...they have to be paid up front and in full. So whoever wants him, will have to pay 50mil cash up front. This sort of thing rarely happens. But regardless...i feel fairly confident we'll be in the CL next year...so the clause is irrelevant anyway.

Let's say we value Donna at 60, so I don't care between the difference of 45 and 25 (cause Bosman next summer), sure 20 million extra is nice but less than 60 is already wrong. That's why I don't like clauses and Bosman aftecting 1 year ahead is silly to me. Some contracts are 3 years, so one third of contract left already the player has to be sold at bargain cause 1 year later he is free? This system is dumb.
