We should all be honest and admit we have no idea how much money this team does or does not have. Constantly being linked with players that don’t come. The management is tight lipped and won’t tip their hat in any direction. Same thing happened the last market too. Could be because we have FFP considerations, could be because we want to balance books for a sale or it could be because we have no money.

Of course we're desperate. Strasbourg are the ones who can act cool and demand whatever they want. It's the risk of playing the waiting game we have been doing for a couple of months now...

I think €15m wasn't enough for him. Celtic does not want to sell in this window. But of course we should have done something earlier than the last day when we know how much we need a new defender.

I dunno, I think we can survive until January without another CB. Romagnoli is back soon, probably Duarte as well, and isn't Musacchio back in training too? That's five players for two positions. Sure we have some fitness problems in that position, but in the short term a 20 year old player was never going to be more than a stop-gap solution anyway, and probably not more reliable than Gabbia.

The CB position is a bit of a weak spot though, but it's not like we're leaking goals at the moment either...

Agree. Romagnoli will be available for selection vs Inter. Duarte should be coming back since he is not injured but was Covid positive. The only unknown is Musacchio, although we know he's undergoing personalized training and apparently will be available by the end of this month.

I think the CB need was blown out of proportion. Sure, we could have made a step up in quality, but that goes for every position essentially. The point is that there is no emergency and we don't need to be desperate and overpay. 

Clearly this window was about solidifying the squad depth by adding quality to the squad. I think the management believes in the starting players post Covid (hard to argue with them at this point) and decided to add depth (Tonali, Diaz, Hauge, Dalot) in order for us to have similar quality players outside the starting 11. So far it's worked. We are able to rotate and we don't have to cringe like last year when Biglia had to play or when we had no option behind Hakan, etc. 

We'll see where we are in January...
