It's hurt me so much that Acerbi didn't worked for us, and now is Italy's best defender. Acerbi-Sokraitis would saved our millions spent on Bonucci, Caldara, Duarte, Musacchio, G. Gomez... Literally one of the best late bloomers of this decade.

Meyte - Krunic swap possibile

Sounds like Meite is coming. He was called up for tonight's game, but wasn't even on the bench due to the negotiations, which have been confirmed by both us and Torino. Sounds like it's more or less a done deal then.

Meitè isn't awful. Sure, he is not a world beater but he is capable and will give some relief to Kessie or Bennacer. He will be better than Krunic and hopefully he will grow in a better environment (no offence to Toro), he is only 27.
I expect him to contribute, but not to dominate or anything. Meitè will be handy.

What about Moises Caicedo? Most EPL club's can't get him due to work permit issues and we where linked a month or so ago.
Seems a good prospect.

From what I've gathered, I don't think this will be a high cost mercato but it should add some quality into our depth. We've been almost perfect this season but our games with some flaws have been when we lose a few players.

1) someone other than Krunic to fill in our midfield. Pioli's system requires a lot of running and our midfield is the core of that hard work. Kessie/Bennacer/Tonali all work like animals in the midfield when they play. With that being said, anytime 2 of those 3 players are unavailable we have obvious issues & Krunic is nowhere near good enough. Meite seems a solid low cost option. He works hard, he makes quick passes and he really doesn't make any errors. He's a safe bet to fill in for us.

2) another quality attacker/playmaker. I'd go for Papu Gomez.

3) a CB like Simakan would be excellent, I would assume with Kjaer's age and probably having only a few years at these levels that we'd invest in someone young with the potential to replace him.


Meite, Simakan & Papu Gomez would be a perfect mercato to keep this season on the right path while staying low cost. We could arguably spend no more than 30m on that mercato, perhaps even less if we include players like Conti or Krunic. I would prefer to keep Conti but it doesn't seem like he's anywhere near being back in favour. It's beyond me why Dalot gets a chance to see the field when Conti seems like a far better player to me.
