At Milan, yes, but he is equally capable at LB. At Arsenal, he was often at LB before his breakthrough in midfield.

I wouldn't consider trying out Flamini at left back to be a valid or better choice than Antonini, Zambrotta og Taiwo. We need a left back for the left back role... Maybe Kolarov wants to go back to Italy? I know he's been linked away from Man City before, not sure how his status is now though.
Although i don't believe we really need another forward, but Tevez for anything less than 23 Mio is a great deal for sure

Maxwell for me is a HUGE NOOOO

Flamini used to play as LB at Arsenal and he was not bad at all so if we can't get anybody new in Jan, he might well be our best option there

Some news that Van Bommel could be retiring in Jan!!
Given his performances this year, it won't be a huge loss, but if Ambro is all we have to cover up then i will be really worried...maybe we can sign De Rossi in Jan? Smile

A one-legged, blind-folded Maxwell is an upgrade to Antonini.

Antonini is one of the worst footballers in our squad. The guys is a complete mess.
u guys are talking about a world class left back who is young........the answer is Marcel Schmelzer of Borussia Dortmund...but they wont sell him, unless we give them .....say flamini+taiwo+bonera...!!!???

PATO is going nowhere...c'mon guys he is a real gem....which teenage striker is better than him apart from Messi......the talent is huge.....even better than robinho....i would sell off robinho and cassano...but not PATO..definitely not

I agree, for me Flamini's not really an option at fullback. He doesn't want to play there and in all honesty, given how much he's missed over the last couple of years I don't think he'd bring consistency.

A little harsh on Antonini imo, but definitely Maxwell is almost definitely an upgrade to all of our LBs right now.
Have u seen Maxwell plays lately? Antonini is better than him
Okay I was deliberately exaggerating. However, Antonini runs a lot. His workrate was admirable at the outset because we had so many doddering defenders. The guy can't cross. The guy often gets caught out of position, and he is not adept at keeping possession either.

IMO, he needs to go.
Antonini needs to stay, because if we take a new LB sooner or later, we'll need a bench player for this position, and Antonini can be this LB sub ...

A lot of rumours about Milan wanting to get Mascherano after Tevez ... While I've never been a big fan of these both players (but I have to admit they're both WC in their role), getting them both could be one of the smartest moves of Galliani. These both players are friends, Tevez is known to be very ... umh let's say mad, while Mascherano is known to be a very professional player. I think that this idea about us getting Mascherano after Tevez isn't stupid, as taking Mascherano would probably help Tevez to keep cool and of course, it would be an upgrade over our current DMs.
One should not speak ill of the dead.
So stop laughing at Juventus !

Thank you I agree totally. He's awful. Why not recall Didac Vila??

As for CDM, if Van Bommel retires in middle of season which is crazy, we'll need to buy Casemiro if we can't get Montolivo or De Rossi. I've read that Montolivo is staying put until the end of the season. As for De Rossi, well we'll have to throw a lot of money and even still it will be difficult.
