It's not unpopular, it's was the rational choice. Rangnick would have been a long term project with certain ideas and players.

Pioli was ever going to be short term, has a mediocre managerial career. Looking back that half season of 2019/20 despite the good results has set Milan back years. There has been no tangible short term gain especially if miss out on CL, but could be lots of more pain in the medium term.

Definitely not unpopular. It is just that it was impossible to have Rangnick take over while Pioli was simply red hot.

I was same thinking a very short time ago ,but now I'm for sack him whether we make it to cl or not... this ,what we're watching lately... this is just unforgivable. it's reset to Montela /Giampaolo level...bellow ground zero... it's despicable. Add to that "brilliant tactics" and Kalinic levels of stubbornness of lately...dude is completely lost and he have no clue what he's doing or even what he wants to do... that is just not acceptable in crucial part of season... hell ,even decade... he needs to go...

As per Calciomercato.com, Verona’s Ivan Juric is among the candidates to replace Pioli if the former Lazio coach is sacked at the end of the season.

According to the report, Massimiliano Allegri is also an option. The Tuscan tactician was the last Milan coach to earn a Champions League spot in 2012-13, but seems close to returning to Juventus to replace Andrea Pirlo.
