We are actually much better in most area's- We have good depth.
Why Pellegri if we could have kept and developed Colombo for instance or anyone from the Primavera

I'm guessing we don't rate Colombo enough if at all.

No one is in the Primavera.
Maybe that Roback kid we spent a million on last year, but so far has done not much.
Excellent mercato so far, but it will be important to add that extra quality player up front, Vlasic or Ziyech. I also shouldn't write of the possibility of Ilicic, though he will only be a backup option.

Getting bakayoko makes so much sense, perfect backup for kessie. A midfield of Bennacer, Kessie, Tonali and Bakayoko is great!

The signing of Pellegri is also an interesting one, its a gamble, but he was always considered a great talent but injuries ruined his career so far. Hopefully he can stay fit. But its a low risk gamble IMO, a 1m loan, and an option to buy, which could be an obligation, probably when he plays an x number of games.
I hope it turns out well, a young talented Italian striker is always interesting.
Colombo isn't ready, its better for him to play at lower level and develop, so maybe in some time he will be ready.

Next, vlasic! I hope

Well, I still also expect our young players to continue developing and get better than last season. Calabria, Theo, Tomori, Bennacer, Kessie, Tonali, Diaz, Leao, Saelemaekers, Kalulu, Gabbia... I hope none of them have reached their peak yet.
Not well Mercato so far, IMO. The season starts today and we are still bleeding for AM, CF, RWF.
We lost Donnaruma, Kebab for free, Kessie is set to do the same. General confusion on who we are after what are targets are... Getting Maignan, confirming Tomori and getting Giroud isn't enough for a CL participant
Was it not better to get serial drifter Cutrone back on loan (with option course) than serially injured Pellegri?  Grinundwech

Currently as it stands in January both Kessie and Romagnoli will be able to sign pre contracts with other clubs and leave on free.

Losing 4 players for nothing in a year is beyond stupid.
What would do a smart sportive director do to a player who's contract is set to expire next year, and can sign pre-contract in 4-5 months with another club?
