Look, we have offered Kessi 6.5 which is big for our budget, it means we want him to stay. He is good, if not one of the best in our team. Maybe, giving him the armband is a way to show him how important he is to the club. I would not read to much into reports from not credible sources, I see a lot of respect from the club and the players for Kessie, it would not be the case if he was perceived as a mercenary.

It's just matter of personal point of view. Some perceive him as mercenary, some not. For me, captain should be someone with both, playing and human virtues. Kessie lacks in second department (again, in my opinion). True, he is good, but not that good (actually no one is that good) to be allowed to wear it if he's not 100% captain material. It hurts me to see folks like him or Montolivo, etc to wear Milan's armband. I look at it as privilege which must be well earned, not as some tool to show "affection" or to pamper someones vanity. Club (if that's what was intended) should find another way to show him how important he is. If he is.

Personally I don't like Kessie or Donnaruma wear the armband.
However, as an organization, Milan should show recognization for the players with enough contribution, football-wise.

In this squad Ibra should be the captain hands down, he is the leader of this team through and through. He had an impact on a young mentally weak group of players imo.

What he brings to the change room and pitch can't be replaced. He's made a huge difference in the growth of this team and individuals.

Look at someone like Leao. The kid idolizes Zlatan. Zlatan says jump and Leao is first in line to say how high and where. some wanted him gone last season but his improvement has been a joy to watch. The ability was always there but the belief in it was something he needed to work on and having someone like Zlatan beside him made it easier.
Vlahovic and Bremer (Torino) are beasts, should sign them both with the money Milan will receive if they qualify for champions league round of 16 entry (58m ?)
