Venting, sell the club, etc. thread
(04-15-2022, 05:45 PM)nefremo Wrote: Seems very serious. Lots of credible sources reporting this. Who knows what it means for us. I'm not one to want a rich sugar daddy that can go into financial trouble or lose interest at any moment. At least this is a fund, so they'll try to run the club responsibly like Elliot (i hope).

The only way into the future is self sustainability. The whole idea of "football clubs are not profitable so forget success if you focus on profits" needs to be scratched off. It IS possible. It's "less sexy", but it's a possible and very attainable goal. It may take longer to get there and there will be some ups and downs, but I'd rather do it that way.

this!

So the official twitter account of the Bahrainian Embassy in UK just had a post confirming the exclussive negotiations between Bahrain based fund Invescorp and Milan.

If it was just media rumors before...it's practically official now (the negotiations).

I expect this sale to go through actually. Due diligence is only done once sale price has been communicated by the seller and the buyer expresses the willingness to reach that sum IF the due diligence checks out. Meaning, Investcorp is checking into Milan's accounts to verify what's been disclosed by Elliot (the seller) is in fact accurate (revenue streams, sponsorship agreements, future projections, expenses, etc). Some haggling may happen after this process, but I don't see Elliot as a firm that would jeoperdize a sale by disclosing incorrect information in initial sales talks. They've done this too many times before. It's not Yonghong Li. They know how to close a sale, although I'm also sure they'll hold firm on valuation. They've done as exceptional job with Milan. Never thought I'd say this, but I wouldn't be upset at all if they stayed on.

Official!
Investcorp has entered in exclusive talks to buy ACMilan for $1.1 billion.

Though I agree with what nefremo said about Elliott staying on.

So it seems like Gazidis would be the only one not retained according to one or two reports.

Bring back Boban!

With the Arabs money can flow in through fake sponsor contacts.

So we don't really need the serious sponsor seeker like Gazidis.

His work is always appreciated, anyway.

Do you remember guys when we were rioting here, #GazidisOut

i bet if Gazidis stays, he will make the Arabs spend less than Elliot did

Gazidis should be removed once Arab money poured in, It would  be like buying a Ferrarri with Fiat engine...
Forza Diavolo ale!!!

Gazidis is one of the primary engines that drove us to self sustainability. Not saying he is perfect or anything but the guy knows how to execute a financial plan. I do get the feeling Investcorp would want to put their own people in as the CEO though, so shouldn't be shocking if Gazidis ends up leaving. Hopefully Massara, Maldini and Moncada all stay though, those guys have done a good job so far

Talks between investcorp and Elliott advanced and officalized. Deal is 99% done. It’s said that Elliott maybe staying on as partial owners of the club . Apparently the 1.1b figure is the partial ownership of the club + the majority financing of the stadium project completely alone separate from Inter as well.
