Summer Mercato 2022
AFter what he went through at Bayern, I would be very careful about going to PSG and have to battle with that many players for playing time if I were Renato. Sure, you can argue Veratti is the only one certainly better than him, but that could also be said about Wijnaldum last year, and he got absolutely buried. Renato worked hard to resurrect his career after his bayern years, does he want to risk it all again? Good luck if he does. And if we do miss out on him, maybe we can throw in a loan offer for Wijnaldum lol

The concerning part is that Campos would have known exactly Milan's intentions, so he would be the person to know exactly what's needed to overtake Milan's advance. In any case, let's see this happens....no matter what ownership (except PSG...even City doesn't do this), this is not feasable or normal. To pay 30M for a player in the last year of contract. There is a way to value players. This is not it. It may seem like I'm just bitter because my club can't do this....but this is literaly ruining football. And if so, than fine. But why can THEY do it and nobody else? That's the part I don't get. It's either free game for all or the the same FFP rules for all. Otherwise, what's the point!?

Well, it depends on how much the club values the player. Real paid over 100m for Hazard when he only had a year left on his contract, and offered 200m+ last year when Mbappe only had one year left on his contract too. If PSG thinks Renato is this giant upgrade in midfield to what they have, then 30m is nothing to them. I like Renato but there are players like him out there, not a earth shattering loss to me
I guess. You certainly make a good point. But Real is not better. They cry wolf all the time. And they are the ones thst started this whole thing. Still, my point is that it shouldn't be possible if FFP is followed. My frustration is that clubs like PSG don't follow it. And it's very aggrevating. Time and time again, they are allowed to do this. The bullshit sponsorships they have is a prime example. It's an absolute scandal. Yet all the big boys at UEFA act dumb as if they don't know what's happening.
@footballitalia: More reports Renato Sanches will join PSG because Milan owners are refusing to match the €30m LOSC asking price, and Sven Botman to Newcastle United is a similar problem, which could prompt Paolo Maldini’s exit.

Hopefully it's just media BS..
Paying 30 for Sanches and more than 30 for Botman makes Maldini decide to leave? We shouldn't pay those amounts.
He could be frustrated if no certainty/budget but those amounts are not right.
Agree. Why should that promp Maldini to leave? Maldini would have not paid 30M for a player whose contract is ending in 12 months. If PSG's entrance is driving the price up to 30M, ok. As Reza said, it could be frustratong that it wasn't closed earlier. That I get. But for Maldini to leave because Milan won't match that (ridiculous) price? Not so sure.

Another bullshit story by football-italia (they probably took it from somewhere else to be fair).
well, maldini leaving is worrying, but whats more worrying is, he havent sign a new contract at all, what does redbird thinking here, they think the mercato can be done in 1 week before the season starts? or do they think the season starts on 2023?
If you wait 6 month's to sign player's then of course these rich shits will come to high jack.

If P$G get either or not , I can't wait for these rich turd$ to end up in crisis like UEFAlona and Manure.
Dominating the baguette league will only bring in so much money.

PSG won't end up like Barcelona as they basically have endless money and UEFA let them do what they want.
I am just going to say that I have some doubts about PSG wanting Renato. They just signed a box to box midfielder from Porto, Vitinha, who plays similar position to Renato and they are already stacked in midfield to begin with.

The problem with PSG is that they are inflating the market almost single handedly. This will lead to other teams who are trying to compete with them to have to pay more transfer fees/agent fees/salary in order to get any player. Without significant revenue growth, that would eat into team's profit margins, and eventually lead to teams having to borrow money to fund these operations. As debt for a team grows, they are at a higher and higher risk to go bankrupt. This already happened in the early 2000s, when teams like Parma, Fiorentina, Leeds and Dortmund stretched their financials so far and ended up either going bankrupt or were on the very edge of it. Those teams, to some degree, still have not recovered from that even today. That whole situation was the reason FFP was introduced to begin with. But of course UEFA decided to toss FFP into the trash when PSG is in violation of it, but will throw the book at law abiding teams like Milan for even the smallest infractions. European soccer might be headed for another bubble and I hope we don't see more historic teams cease to exist because of it
