It seems that Napoli are close to signing him for 30 milions.
Zapata is still at Torino, has the Serie A experience, etc,etc....

I can't express how disappointed I would be if we ended up with Zapata...

[Arildonardo]

The state of the Italian national team... Glad we don't have any of those players.

[ACM1899]

That was tough to watch.

[Sampinjon]

It was clear since their first game against Albania, that they're doomed...

Going with the Youth, boomeranged them. The problem in Italy is that it is way too tactical for a youngster to adapt, and all they get loans out in Serie B and C which is worse to end up in. Imo all Italians youngster should start career in Switzerland, Austria and then bring em in Italy. This is only way to improve the quality. Otherwise Italian football would be in free fall as Talents are coming in bulk from Balkans. It wouldn't take time for them to displace Italians off

I have been saying this forever, big or any Serie A clubs don't help themselves with random lower level loans. Not helping themselves certainly doesn't help the national team either, because bulk of player development is at clubs. Playing at Ascoli (or whoever) AND training at Ascoli facilities is not the way to create high level teams.

Italian soccer's emphasis on tactics is destroying their talent pipeline. Italian coaches would rather play a 32 year old washed up instead of a 19 year old Leo Messi because the 32 year old knows where he needs to stand all 90 minutes. Instead of making the game plans more simple to follow, and foster the natural talent of the players, Italian coaches would just double down and put even more emphasis on their beloved tactics. The country's legislature is also stuck in the good old days and will never go after any new ideas. The national team will never get out of this mess barring a divine miracle and an Italian Leo Messi happens to run into the right situation, similar to what happened with Donnarumma back in the day. That's just how the country is run, nothing can fix it

Official, confirmed. Memphis Depay and Mario Hermoso both leave Atlético Madrid as free agents.

[Sleeping Giant]

Yes for Hermonso and No for Depay
