Origi has returned from his loan spell but he is not a part of Milan’s plans and has not been seen at Milanello since the preseason began. The possibility of a mutual termination between Origi and Milan cannot be excluded, because at present the €4m net per season salary is putting off potential suitors.

Can't we fire then with just cause since they haven't shown up to pre-season training and they should have. What are we paying them for? There's gotta be a law that protects the clubs also. Not just the players

Labor laws in Europe is really labor friendly. It would probably take multiple warnings and written documentations before there is enough of a case to fire them. And during that process, they can easily just show up and train like lazy asses and you can't fire them

Paying someone 4m a year for them to just show you the middle finger and not show up for work......and you still gotta pay them??? That's wild

Contracts are contracts, man. This is why teams are so reluctant to pay their players and give them guaranteed contracts. Hard as hell to get out of them

But contracts go both ways. You pay someone a salary for a service. It may be hard (impossible) to get rid of them because their service sucks (for example, Origi sucks). But it shouldn't be impossible to get rid of them if they simply choose NOT to provide the service they are getting paid for.

I don't know. I don't think any labor law would alow for something like that. With that said, Origi and FBT may have a leg to stand on because of Milan Futuro. I guess technically they signed a contract with Milan to play (train) with Milan. Not Milan Futuro. So in that sense, if they were only called up to report for training by Milan Futuro and not by Milan, then they may be "ok" and are not in breach of their contract terms.

Either way, there's gotta be something. Because I don't believe you can just refuse to show up for work without consequences.

Colombo, now 22, going out on yet another loan - this time to Empoli. Either keep him or sell as unfair on Colombo who wasted a good part of his career bouncing around on endless loans.

And the whole LB back up position has been a mess for years.

Kerkez was bought as a talent but hardly played and was sold for circa 2m, 5m was then spent to buy FBT who played a handful of games before being loaned and now stuck with. Then another 5m was used to buy Terraciano who has simply disappeared. Circa 5m was spent on purchasing Jimenez who may or may not play. Florenzi also still here and has played LB. Utterly ridiculous.
