I recall how bitter we were when we failed to land Zirkzee. It's clear now that we are better off. Guy's looking lost at Manchester, being abused by fans, struggling to get going. Morata and Abraham are definitely better than having Zirkzee. Because I'm sure if we had signed Zirkzee,. management would've called it a day and not sign another striker.

Yeah I agree for now. Zirkzee has averaged about 60 mins per game in his game time has 1 goal. He hasn't looked good at all. But then again man utd are a shit show

Yup, guy changed league, it is "allowed" not to adapt to new environment, especially to highly demanding one as EPL.
Pulisic, for example, was crap at EPL but he's doing fine in Serie A(and did fine in Germany). Zirkzee already somewhat showed that he can play in Italy, so I'm not entirely sure he would be the same crap as he is now if he went to Milan or Inter/Juventus instead of Manchester.

Need an experienced and well connected sporting director. Moncada is a nobody who appears to have almost zero relationships with other clubs/SDs. There has been a continuous churn in players yet the squad is wafer thin and completey disconnected from Fonseca’s tactics and formation.

Anyways, I wasn't talking about whether Zirkzee would be able to perform at Milan or not. We all agree he's good and he's shown that at Bologna.

I was really looking at the net effect of two transfers: Morata+Abraham vs Zirkzee. We've seen how valuable Morata and Abraham have been so far. The passion, maniacal work rate of Abraham, experience and link up play of Morata etc etc. I really doubt getting Zirkzee alone would have been better than having these two.

My thoughts were on the premise that if we had signed Zirkzee, we won't have signed any other striker. There's no way this management will spend €55million or €60million on Zirkzee and then go ahead to buy another striker. So the striker department would've been:
- Zirkzee
- Okafor
- Jovic

Would that really be better than:
- Morata
- Abraham
- Okafor
- Jovic

Royal is another thing. Dude have 5-6 bad years in a row behind him. He's done and dusted. Can't compare with those who had good season(s) recently. Do you know anyone who "recovered" after such a long period and became top level player? I don't.
Players like Royal wont adapt anywhere because they have 0 quality.

And I doubt that Zirkzee would be only signing. You can't go into season with 3 strikers, especially when two of them are Okafor and Jovic. Even our board is not that negligent. Abraham (or some other similar player) would be signed no matter if Zirkzee or Morata. We didn't spend any cash on Abraham. It's dry loan swap for Salad (or whoever). But I agree that we wouldn't sign Morata if Zirkzee arrived. Which option would be better? Who knows?
