I really don’t think we’ve had a great transfer campaign so far. Yes we’ve sold a lot of players and made money but it’s not all being put to good use.

-Reijnders was sold for a lot less than we should have been. Especially considering it was City and they were rushing to close the deal before the CWC.
-We only have 1 striker. I get we are only playing for Serie A and Coppa but we should have at least 2 with a guy like Camarda as the 3rd. We are always taking too long to pull off transfers.
- I actually think we are worse off in defence this year. Wasn’t too impressed with Estupinan and I’m not sold on our right flank. Like usual it’s the weak side. Alexis is good but he’s not a Milan quality RWB.
-if we are trimming the fat and have raised around 200 million, we shouldn’t be buy so many average players but a few high level ones.
- I’m only impressed by the work in the midfield. Modric will be a great leader, Ricci will be solid and Jashari has potential to be a really good player.

22 players, including 3 GKs. I'm all for keeping a lean squad and not inflating it with players that only end up making 3-5 appearances each year. BUT, I feel like 19 outfield players......let's say 20 if/when a CF arrives.......that's a bit TOO lean. Midfield is covered i guess. But everywhere else we'd be 1-2 injuries away from crisis and the need to shift players around as emergency options. 

I'm seeing "news" that Okafor won't be replaced. A CF will arrive, but that was going to happen anyway, so I don't count it as an Okafor replacement. I do think we need to add 2 more players (not counting the CF that we've known is a need). Those 2 players can depend on the primary/preferred formation. Definitely not in midfield though. So that means something along the backline (CB, RB, LB) or something in attack (winger/3rd CF). Maybe a combination of the two even. 1 CB and 1 attacker (CF or winger). Ideally, we also need a backup LB/LWB).

=> While 3-5-2 offers defensive stability, Milan could become a dull counter-attacking side

Ultimately, the choice between 3-5-2 and 4-3-3 will depend on Allegri’s tactical assessment and adjustments.

@nefremo: So in my opinion, Højlund or Okafor would lead to just a minor tactical reconsideration.

Vlahovic & Kiwior will give our squad 2 proper positions. Both 4-3-3 and 3-5-2 are stronger with them.

Adrien Rabiot and Jonathan Rowe are put to transfer list by Marseille.
A direct swap between Rabiot and Bennacer could be done, and there is an enquiry for Fofana from a Saudi Arabian club.

Smart business would be to sell Fofana to Al Ahly for the 25-30 they are willing to (apparently) offer. Then swap Bennacer and Rabiot for an even valuation (let's say 15m). 1) We get to replace Fofana for no cash out the door. With a better player, at that.
2) Recognize actual gain of 15m on Bennacer (i think his book value is fully amortized at this point)
3) Rabiot's valuation of 15m can be spread out over the term of his contract (3 years, let's say?), so he'll negatively hit our books for 5m this year and offset the Bennacer gain. So all in all, Rabiot-Bennacer swap will positively impact our books for 10m this year.
4) use that 25m from Fofana on another need (CB/CF)

Of course, the above is extremely simplistic way of looking at things and #s may not be accurate. But you get the point.
