Christopher Nkunku from Chelsea latest rumour

22/23 and 23/24 look bad. But he seems to have gotten past that and was healthy last year. By that point though, he'd lost his spot in the Chelsea lineup. Mostly because of the emergence of Palmer last year. It was impossible to bench Palmer with the performances he had so Nkunku had to ride the bench. So he's "a flop" sure. I guess he'd qualify for that title...but the context here is important. 
In terms of quality and ability, the guy has a ton of it. So I'm not against this signing at all. Although, Felix also had a ton of individual quality and we all know how it worked out here. So who knows.

I just hope that they get an actual #9. Regardless of the Nkunku deal closing or not....we need another #9.

Football Italia: Milan’s decision to turn towards Christopher Nkunku raises further questions about what precisely they are looking for in a striker, and how much sway Max Allegri really has in strategy.

Allegri made it clear he wanted a strong, tall target man upfront. This makes their choices all the more confusing, as Victor Boniface and Conrad Harder could perhaps be put into that mould, but Nkunku really isn’t going to fit the bill. He started his career as a midfielder and can play out wide with strong dribbling skills, but would be the shortest forward in the team if he came to San Siro.

Allegri may well continue to quietly ask for Juventus outcast Dusan Vlahovic, but the same problem remains at Milan that has been an issue for several years now. The biggest problem is that nobody is really in charge of the strategy.

Igli Tare’s arrival has certainly boosted their ability to sell players for healthy profits, as getting that much money for Malick Thiaw and Noah Okafor was a masterclass in fleecing the Premier League sides. However, he still doesn’t have the power to purchase any new stars without putting it past CEO Giorgio Furlani first.

Milan may well be building a team, but who are they building it for? If Paulo Fonseca and Sergio Conceicao were just passing through, you’d assume the club would listen to Allegri more, but that really doesn’t seem to be panning out.

Moretto: Igli Tare is working to sign a centre-back. Manuel Akanji is the name that is convincing Milan the most. Tare today contacted Bayern for Kim Min-Jae but they rejected the approach as he is not for sale. Milan also contacted Arsenal for Jakub Kiwior, but he is close to joining Porto.
