This is interesting stuff. Wasn't Flamini offered a 2-year, 1.8M per year contract? Is this new contract punitive? Funny how things work out. Flamini's agent looks so pathetic in front of Galliani.

Flamini asked for a "higher" contract (compared to what was offered, not compared to what he had) and probably said he could go somewhere else if Milan doesn't want to renew him at his conditions. Milan never accepted his request and finally stopped the negotiations, waiting 1-2 days to see if the player really had offers, and finally, like he has none, Galliani has been able to send this even more reduced contract to Flamini who had no choice but accepting ...

Good game by Galliani on this one, and missed bluff by Flamini and his agents. Fair game, but Galliani is a better liar ...

I hope signing Flamini does not put a full stop to our mercato. The game Galliani played and eventually the deal he came up with is pretty good.

TS needing a pay hike, like some of you here even ive got mixed feelings on this one. He is the best defender in the world and our priced asset and he deserves what he is asking for especially when other under valued colleagues are getting paid more. That's quite human. But the question is if it is he or the agent who is forcing him to think this way. He re signed last year, he could have asked for a better contract then. Also what about his statements on the love for Milan and him following the steps of Baresi and Maldini. That makes the whole club and the fans alike look like shit. Guess it is all about money nowdays.

Mathieu Flamini, who has been with the Rossoneri since 2008, will remain a Milan player next season. He has accumulated 100 appearances, one league title and one Italian Super Cup.

The Frenchman has contributed toward one Serie A title and one Italian Super Cup victory.

Or maybe none at all? You would think with a Bosman status, it should not be too hard to get a somewhat decent offer? That is, if any offer came in, I think it could be more than 1.5M? The most reasonable scenario for me seems to be no offer existed. If so, WOW.

Or, Flamini just loves Milan so much? That is a big "IF" of course, but if you put the two words "IF" and "MILAN" together and scamble, what would you get?

The answer is "FLAMINI".
