By the way, along with the rumor of Ibra departure, many names have been thrown in the speculation who might join Milan. Dzeko was mentioned, and the newest name is now Tevez. Surprise, surprise.

If we could get Kolarov + one of Tevez and Dzeko for Ibra I think we should consider it.

Actually I would rather say Merdalona I don't like either of them (my favourite spanish team being Atletico M), but if I have to pick between them in a match, I'd always support Merdadrid

I wouldn't consider tevez though as an ibra replacement, I'd put him down as replacement for robinho or cassano, maybe even pato. with out ibra we lack height, and pretty much just everything he offers. if Ibra leaves I'd expect a similar player like cavani or torres to take his place, a big strong goal scoring striker

I wholeheartedly agree. We need a big guy who can play as a target and who can be played off of. Though I've always imagined (read hoped) that we'd use any Ibra-money to invest in a midfielder.

I like Ibra but sometimes, as we all know, he can be a liability. Maybe we should get money from him while we can, I mean, how much will his value be in a couple of years or even next year?

We have 29 players right now! That's too much and we absolutely must sell. Obviously, selling Mesbah and Taiwo will reduce us to 27 which is pretty much on target for our squad size (bear in mind we'll have an extra player in Constant due to Muntari's injury). However, only then imo will we be in a position of selling first before getting new players. We'd have to sell Didac if we're to buy a new LB, I think Strasser would go out on loan if or when we get a new DM and one of the forwards would have to leave before we can look for our "vice-Ibra".

Tevez can act as a false 9 really well, in which respect he could do a lot of what Ibra does. However, you're right, he doesn't have Ibra's height and we have a tendency to play quite a lot of long balls in our game (not in a bad way might I add), meaning we'd have to distinctly change our play style with Tevez instead of Ibra.

Papers are rife with speculation that Ibra and T. Silva (both or one of them) could be sold.

The former will be hard to sell because there are no concrete buyers IMO, especially considering his age and salary. The latter just had a touch-up on his contract, and with Berlusconi's intervention earlier this summer, it would be difficult to see him leave.

What I think Galliani is doing is preparing fans for the worst so the not-so-worst feels like a boon. I think we will sign one more player before the market is done. If it means we have to sell first, then I hope we consider selling Robinho.

Ibra will stay with us, and so will T. Silva (until 2013). We will probably see how Acerbi does this year, and if he does very well, then we may seriously consider selling T. Silva next summer. Ibra is a bit more difficult.

While Galliani said many negative things yesterday, notice that Italian football as a whole is not doing too badly. Roma have had a 20 million euros increase in revenue despite no CL and Juve have their own stadium and are pretty active in the market. Napoli too will probably eclipse Valencia in terms of revenue this year (they were pretty close without CL too).

Finally, Galliani said that Ibra would be impossible to acquire in 2012 based on his salary. I find this a bit laughable. Galliani was pretty much bleating about salaries since 2008, and yet we offered Ibra a colossal contract just two years ago. Sure, FFP will be in full swing now, but Milan's situation is not that dire.


ANd finally finally ...Galliani was asked today about Thiago and Ibra..and he said "The fans are quiet..." I don't know what that means...like they aren't up in arms because they know it's not true, or that they aren't coming out to support Milan (2000 showed up yesterday at training, which is less than previous years) so this is punishment? I don't know..perhaps someone else can shed some light...
