They are not going to replace any players who will not come with a loan and an option to buy. i don't want to burst the hope or bubble for you guys in dreaming about Dezko, Tevez or whomever. The truth of the matter is that these players although seems unwanted by their club are still pretty much wanted all across Europe due to their talents and reasonable wages. Say Milan offered 20mil for Dzeko, Bayern, Juve or whomever might come in and offered 25mil. Whats make you think Dzeko will choose Milan over all other teams, fully knowing Milan will most likely sell him to another club the following year if he has a good year. No players would want to be treated like a ping pong ball from their clubs, and as its look right now, Milan is willing to cash in anyone who they can sell for a profit.
Another thing, Milan already got 4 CBs in Mexes, Bonera, Acerbi and Yepes, all they need is to promote another one to make it five. While even without Ibra, Robinho, Cassano, Pato and SES are 4 strikers.
I really wish I am wrong but I think Galli if not through promotion will probably sign Natalie as another CB and someone like Amauri as striker.
Ladri refused a 25 M offer from PSG for Vidal who they bought for 10 M last year. Now THAT is the indication of there's a project going on.

I'm just going to drop this news item here: http://www.milannews.it/?action=read&idnotizia=85714
I don't know how much I believe it though.
I can really see Guardiola taking over Milan b/c he would rather have Mexes and Bonera instead of Silva as CB. WOuld love to have FLamini and Constant instead of Merkel in midfield.
Very sad about Silva and Ibra leaving, but... life goes on.
I don't think that Ibra is irreplaceable, but T. Silva surely is.
Though I'm still behind my words that Milan almost was Ibra + 10, with some investment and some tactical and style changes we could make up Ibra's departure.
Even if Ibra actually was the fittest player in the world for Serie A, he was nowhere near that for CL, especially when we played stronger sides than us (Barcelona for example), when we could not control the game, and we could hurt them by counter attacking, but that phrase "counter attacking" doesn't exist when a focal point of your team is Ibra. It's not coincidence that Inter won CL just after they sold him - Mourinho changed his system from ball holding play that suited Ibra, to counter attacking play that suited his team best against stronger teams like Barcelona.
Reading the rumors, it seems it'll be Tevez or Dzeko. Tevez will not be sold by City, as he's a sure starter, the player that Mancini brought back after he was a total asshole. Dzeko is not in Mancini's plans, he will not be starter, and if he's clever he will leave City. Now price tag I believe is around 25 M euros, and since Dzeko is a HUGE Milan fan, for his childhood dream to come true I'm sure he will play for 4,5-5 M salary, the same sum he earned in his last year at Wolfsburg.
I've been writing a lot about Dzeko here, and to not write the same things all over again, let me just write that with a similar player beside him, Pato for example, Dzeko would be the same player that he was in Wolfsburg.
As for T. Silva, well he's the only player we should not sell for any price. To replace him we need at least 25 M euros, the sum Galliani will not spend on defender.
But, to make all this a little less painful, let me express my opinion that truth to be told T. Silva is a little overrated. Obviously he's the best defender in the world by far, but I would say in a footballing world when there are no great defenders anymore. And though he had potential to be as good as Baresi, he never got that far and never will. He's growing is very slow, and I think that he's the same player now with 27, as he was three year ago with 24, only more injury prone. Players like Baresi, Nesta, Cannavaro, Maldini, etc., could hold defense almost on their own against strongest attacks in the world. I simply don't see that in T. Silva, the thing I sometimes even saw in Jaap Stam or Lillian Thuram.
So, to conclude, if we could buy 4 players, a striker (Dzeko), a defender (?), a left-back (Balzaretti), and a midfielder (Ganso, Strootman...) I would be satisfied.

AGree with the Ibra part but not so much on Dzeko on a couple of things I mentioned earlier.
A huge disagreement with Silva, as I don't think he is over-rated and he is a much better player than he was when he first came to Milan. On top of that, he could hold a defense together and most of all, I think Milan missed his outlet pass from defense to start the attack during his injury more than anything. We can all compare Silva to Baresi, Maldini, Canna and Nesta...Thuram and Stam....but Silva is someone who I rate better than some of them and on equal footing with the others. Baresi always got Maldini, BIlly and Tassotti with Frank or DeSailley or Carlo in front. Nesta was great at Lazio but his height often came when he play on the NT and for sure with Maldini in Milan. Same with Canna as he always got Thuram or Nesta next to him and Buffon behind him. Silva only got to played with an aging Nesta, Mr. Error Bonera and over-rated Mexes. Yet, he could still lead the Milan defense to a league title and runnerup while also showing the world he is byfar the current #1 defender. Have I mention Silva is also the start of an attacking move for Milan too.
ALthough I like hearing these Guardiola rumors...but I think he might be the most over-rated coach/manager in the world. B/c unless there is a huge injury crisis, I doubt anyone cannot get results with the Barca lineup.
agreed with you on guardiola, gab

Revolver, I scratch my head when reading your post mate. You said T. Silva is irreplacable and the next minute you said he's a bit overrated.
As for this rumor about Pep, well, to be frank I think it's a shitty pipe dream. Coaches rarely change their beliefs. Anywhere Capello went, he played 4-4-2. Sir Alex made some tweaks throughout his quarter century with United but it's all about the system. You hire a coach because of his brand of football. You adapt to him and not the other way around. We played with wingers because 3-4-3 was Zaccheroni's preferred tactic. If you're not willing to adapt and refuse to give him the players he needs, then it's a sure calamity. Just like what happened to Gasperini and Merda.
Even with a good team he inherited from Rijkaard's tenure, Pep ALWAYS went for a huge signing or two every season, from Ibra to Sanchez. How many players do we have now that suit his idea of football? And judging from our mercato the last five years or so, how often did B&G allowed the coach to splash the cash for a big signing he wanted?
