I dont buy how PSG or City cant be in CL due to FFP b/c as far as I understand, all they need is to show they are reducing their debt. Mind you, the debt in FFP is different than real debt b/c FFP does not count into youth development and taxes. For example, Ibra will only count as a 12mil expenses instead of 24mil expenses. Furthermore, if PSG and City spent 150mil this and next summer, all they need to do in the third summer is spend 100mil thus leading to a 50mil less than the previous years.

This is exactly the problem here, if FFP is the main catalyst (of course there are and can be other factors too) of what is happening then we are basically bowing at Platini's feet by being this drastic about it.
Any way, as I posted earlier I am happy I am not a finance expert because it makes me sick and tired how the world works with it.

Only two strikers are better than Ibra today, CR7 and Messi, so we can definitely say we are taking a step down...however I've noticed that Milan play much better as a team without Ibra on the field. I think we can play better as a team with him gone but we need a good striker in his spot. I think someone like Tevez would be great not just for right now, but even for when Allegri gets fired next year, we'll bring in Guardiola who really prefers to put pressure on the opponents defence. Tevez is ideal for that type of football unlike Dzeko. Personally I think there's a huge difference in quality between Tevez and Dzeko and I don't even know why there's a debate.

There are two other players that no one has mentioned yet that would definitely like to make a dream move to Milan, but do we have the money for them and will their clubs let go of them? One, you might have guessed is Edinson. The second plays for Santos, and nope it aint the injury-prone player!

I was never really a big Ibra fan so I don't mind us selling him. We can replace his output if we properly invest in midfield and attack, all while making us a better and less predictable team. My concern is defense. I really have no clue what we're going to do to make up for losing Thiago Silva..

Why they dont wanna try bringing Ganso from Santos... he is the main key there without him Neymar is nobody and if is to expensive then bring us Kaka back... we need a playmaker.. we missed a playmaker after Pirlo injury and Kaka departure .

I don't think we can replace Ibrahimovic. As Hitman pointed out (and I agree), Ibrahimovic is inferior to only Messi and C. Ronaldo. We could however hope to rely on playing as a team instead of a bunch of individuals.

I think right now there is no position where we are ok. Just look at the 12-13 squad as it stands today. CDs for example: Mexes, Acerbi, Bonera, Yepes

Haven't posted here in a while, but I kind of want to share my thoughts on what took place the last month and a half or so.

First of all, I think it is safe to say this was, hands down, the most ridiculous transfer season we have ever had as a team. I mean, we agreed to sell Silva, then decided to keep him, came out talking about how our president is a superhero from planet Vaginon, and then turn around sold Silva to the same team alongside Ibrahimovic two weeks later? It quite simply does not get any more ludicrous than this. When we sold Kaka and Sheva, we did not go back and forth like this at all, which led me to my second point...

Second point, I think the real reason Silva and Ibra were sold was because something major happened in the Berlusconi family recently. If our original intent was to sell those two, then we by no means needed to turn down the PSG offer and extend Silva. The way everything happened is so bizarre that the only explanation was that something unexpected took place. I don't know what it is, but I suspect that the lost court case from last summer (the one where Berlusconi had to pay like 500M euros or something for) could be the reason. I read that some of the posters here think the FFP is the real reason for the massive sell off, but that still doesn't explain the way everything took place. Once again, why don't we just sell Silva and Ibrahimovic instead of refusing the offer and then sell two weeks later? Last I check, the final offer PSG gave us wasn't better than the one from two weeks ago at all. Something happened to the Berlusconi family and that has got to be the reason Ibra and Silva ended up in Paris.

As far as their replacements are concerned, my only advise is not to get our hopes up. I am reading some good names like Tevez, Dzeko, and Damiao for strikers while Dede, Rolando and Tasci for the defense. But if we look at it, Tevez and Dzeko are the only two stars out of the potential names out there. And those two can't do what Ibra does for us either. So our striking department will get worse on the best case scenario that we sign either Dzeko or Tevez, nevermind our worst case scenario (remember Ricardo Oliveira, anyone?). As far as defense is concerned, I get shivers even reading the names we have been linked up with. I mean, seriously, Tasci replacing Silva? What on earth made anyone think he is half the player Silva is? Rolando might be the most likely candidate, but even he is nowhere near the level of a Silva. Without Nesta and Silva, our defense is going to be atrocious next year, that part I know for a fact. And once again, I am saying it is atrocious if we accomplish the best case scenario and land Rolando. I don't even want think about what the worst case scenario will be for the fear of falling into deep depression. When you look at our track record, whenever we sell our star player, we never ever replace them with anyone even remotely close to their level right away. We replaced Sheva with Oliveira, we replaced Kaka with...Huntelaar?! And we won't replace Silva and Ibra with anyone worth mentioning either. So don't get your hopes up about anyone world class putting on a Milan jersey no matter what Galliani says, that is simply not the way it works around here any more.

In essence, by selling Silva and Ibra, Milan had renounced their hope of building a strong team that can challenge in all front. The money will once again go toward a soccer club's ultimate goal, balancing books. Mediocrity is the new success in Milanello these days and it will remain that way until Berlusconi dies. Before you bash me for it, I am only saying that because him dying is the only way this team will be sold to a different owner, I do not wish him ill at all.
