Supposedly As Roma is considering selling or loaning us bojan krkic, he wants more 1st team football he's very young and at barca look destined to be a star roma paid a massive amount but watching him in la liga reminded me of messi as extreme as it sounds

The thing is with Bojan, the deal between Roma and Barca was (IIRC) that Roma paid €12m to sign him a year ago, but essentially it was only a very expensive and weird loan deal, as they'd have to spend another €28m to sign him permanently in 2013. If they don't Barca have to buy him back for something like €13m. So I don't see how we could sign him now, it seems really complicated. Maybe a loan deal is possible.

Another matter is, do we need Bojan? For someone who's career has stagnated for four years, it's amazing to think he's still only 21, so he obviously still has time. But he hasn't shown anything in a long time to suggest he could be a good signing, although we could always take a chance and get him on loan. But then, even if he does fulfill his potential, will we have another Fàbregas-like situation on our hands, where Bojan wants to go back to Barca as soon as they come calling? We certainly don't need that, we have enough problems keeping our players as it is...

Apparently pazzini will complete his medical tomorrow morning.. if we still had ibra in our attack I'd say swapping cassano with pazzini is great because pazzo is two years younger and knows how to score goals, sadly though we do not have ibra so therefore we lack creativity upfront. Pato is by no means creative and it is not his job so no pressure on him, robinho is some what creative, he pulls off some good through passes and assists at times but i think he's better at opening up space with his dribbling and speed, good for counter attacking. For tight space situation (70% of the time) with out ibra and cassano we seriously lack the accurate passing and creativity to make effective attacks..

Its good news in that we lose another deadweight. But guess what. Galliani explicitly stated that we are NOT going to replace him with ANYONE. We are NOT going to bring in ANYONE for his spot.

Still feel good? We lose a body and management refuses to replace him. We're going to use Nini as the starter and Bone(head)ra as the sub.

We still have Didac and Antonini, never mind Di Sciglio who might get quite a lot of games this season if preseason is anything to go by. Getting rid of Mesbah is something we needed to do this summer, irregardless of whether he's replaced.

I read an Amelia leaving rumour, what is going on this summer? Doesn't matter if you rate him or not, we can't change the whole team...

I read that Spurs are interested as they aren't likely to get Julio Cesar who has high salary demands. Personally I just think it's a rumour and nothing more.

Can someone recall Flamini's last season with Arsenal?
I remember he was a monster that year playing alongside Cesc but I'm trying to remember if he was played a CDM or they had someone else for that role. I'd appreciate If anyone can confirm if that was the case and if so then he should be the player we try there.

I really am not surprised by Cassano. He's always been a dirtbag everywhere he's been. I was expecting this sooner or later. I've never been a big fan of his anyway. I admire his talent....but I can't stand his lazyness and attitude. The guy could have been a great, but he only cares about himself. Never does any defensive work on the field and is only interested in the game when he can be in the center of it. He hasn't been fit enough to last a full game (effectively) in years now. And although many may not agree with me and I may get attacked for my statements, I just don't really care about him to be honest.

My only problem with this whole situation is that we are giving away one of the few creative tools we have in the team. Pazzini is the type of striker that we actually can use in our team.....however he is useless without the proper creativity behind him. So even if I'm ok with Pazzini, we need creativity in the midfield. I've been saying that the whole summer and I can't believe that we may not even address that problem.

I'm very interested to see what happens next.

I agree with you about Cassano. To me he was nothing more than a joker to bring off the bench. He's an impact player and coming off the bench can make a huge difference, but he's not a player to build the side around, he's not a team player and he's not a player that can last 90 minutes. Personally, I have no qualms over losing him, I don't see it as a huge loss.

About the Pazzini deal, I'm with Xudong, in that the deal is fine, with us getting Pazzini which is the kind of player we need (if the Berlusconi cup showed anything outside of our defence sucks, it's that we need a prima punta). However, Cassano plus 7m is a pretty steep deal.

Of the names we've been linked to, such as Matri, Pazzini, Borriello and Bendtner, then Pazzini is only second to Matri for me.

Thanks for the read, it is an interesting article. I think we're following a similar template already if I'm honest. I think since Allegri took over we've seen much more attention given to our youth sector, with them often training with the seniors. Also, a year ago when Stroppa was unexpectedly replaced by Dolcetti, I think this was with a view to developing youth players who can make the transition to the senior set up, as there's no other explanation as to why we would replace Stroppa who had done really good things.

I think we need to have patience, as this work will take a few years to really come to fruition.

But De Sciglio is primarily Abate's understudy, and he actually does play better on the right flank. I think we should give Didac a chance though, who knows, we might be pleasantly surprised (thanks for the reminder, I forgot we still had him ).

The biggest worry we seem to have is in the middle of the field and up front actually. Despite not a lot of splashes, our defense may just surprise us.

If only we could get a decent centerback, we'd be set in defence.

Up front its going to be P-ES, Pazz and Binho, no means a poor attack, but could definitely use a bit more aggression. Rossi doesn't seem a good deal now, since he's pretty much in the same mold as Pato or Pazz. We need a creator-orchestrator
Someone similar to Cassano, but with way more stamina and aggression. Messi or C. Ronaldo-ish types.

Its the midfield that I'm really worried about.

Urby-Noc-Monty-Prince is all well and good, but based on current evidence, our backup all suck.
1.) Ambro is too old.
2.) Traore is all work ethic and stamina, but no technique, physicality or intelligent positioning (Against better opposition, he gets bypassed way too easily),
3.) Muntari is as close as Noce as we can find, but he's only playing come January,
4.) Despite being a Chievo-Constant fan, I can only see the Genoa-Constant, which is useless.
5.) As much as I love Christante and Valoti, they aren't as ready for the step up as Merkel or Strasser was two seasons ago. We need to give them time to play, but as backup in important matches, can we afford to do so?

Also, someone mentioned previously that we have two imaginative players, Monty and Urby. Everyone else is all about work ethics. We need a more imaginative midfield and attack. Even more so now that Fat-antonio is gone.

Cassano as a player will be missed. As character its really good decision to get rid of him. Pazzini isa good poacher and smth we need for our set up. Under the right condition I think he can be very helpful.

The best of this deal is that it happened very quick and calm which means we have around 10 days to get the much needed Midfielder/registra. I believe that we are in desperate need to free up Montolivo for the mezzala position. We lack creativity up the pitch and Montolivo is the only one with imagination to help us in that regard, especially now that Cassano is gone and Boateng somehow decided that he doesnt have to play with seriousness now that he has the nr. 10 shirt.

Its obvious that Allegri(considering the circumstances ) is pushing for much more direct and pressing than creative and technical game,but still in addition to that you need someone to give a split pass or play the lines and Monty showed with the NT that he can be very good at it and we have to make use of it.
